Marvel talks a slew of characters getting their own movies

I'm kind of interested what they'll do with guardians of the galaxy, but let's just hope it isn't dumb down to be more realistic. >.>

I'm also quite interested as to what they'll be doing with Black Panther.

Ray Park as Danny Rand would be awesome. Wonder if that'll ever go through...

Ray Park was rumored to play Vegeta....5 years ago.

I like the Iron Fist. I'd love to see a movie about him.

None of these movies, if made, will be good.

If it's not a flagship or popular book, the movies are mediocre - see Ghost Rider, Punisher (2005), Punisher War Zone.

Half of this shit I haven't even heard of. The only one I have heard of is Iron Fist, and his popularity matches Ghost Rider. I love Iron Fist, but would he really be able to bring in the money? :eh:

Note: Upon reading more of the slowly-loading page, I noticed S.H.I.E.L.D., Black Panther, and Doctor Strange. I have heard of these before. :-x

I think non major Marvel characters are better off having short films, or playing roles in movies like "The Avengers" or any other comic book sequel.

This is Marvel though. The company itself has only made Incredible Hulk, Iron Man and Iron Man 2. They have a pretty good track record right now for live action... although their cartoons tend to be awful more often than good.

Anyway, these could be hits or not, but its such a variable. They have relatively no fan bases, so the premise will have to catch on solely based on trailers and the cast. It seems like such a large gambit really, and I could see a couple of these flopping and Marvel really cursing this decision in the end.

I would love to see a Moon Knight or even a cool Ka-zar (CG Dinosaurs FTW!) short film.

However, I think Doctor Strange is a good choice too. I would love to see these films continue to coexist in the same universe though.

This is truth. Marvel films have a much better track record then DC films

Personally, I think they hit a dude when they try to do fanservice or a character thats blah to begin with. I will start with 1986...

Great: Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, X2 X-Men United, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Blade, Blade II, Planet Hulk, The Incredible Hulk Returns,

Good: X-Men, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man 3, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Ultimate Anvengers, Ultimate Avengers II, Hulk Vs, Next Avengers

Mediocre: Howard the Duck, The Punisher (1890), Captain America (1990), Daredevil, Ang Lee's Hulk, The Punisher (2005), Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer, Punisher War Zone, Doctor Strange, Trial of the Incredible Hulk, The Death fo the Incredible Hulk, Capgtain America (1978)

Total. Crap: The Fantastic Four (1994), Blade Trinity, Elektra, Man-Thing, Generation X, Captain America II: Death Too Soon

There's ALOT of below the belt stuff there - movies that didnt need to be made, or mad badly because the flag ship titles are bringing in the dough..

Now DC, I'll start with 1978:

Great: Superman, Superman II, Batman (1989), Batman Returns (1992), Batman Begins, Batman The Dark Knight, Watchmen, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Superman Doomsday, JL: New Frontier, Green Lantern First Flight

Good: Superman Returns, Swamp Thing, Supergirl, Batman & Mr. Freeze Subzero, Wonder Woman (animated), Batman: Gotham Knight, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, Batman: Under the Red Hood

Mediocre: Superman III, Batman Forver, Jonah Hex, Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman, The Batman vs Dracula, Superman Braniac Attacks, Teen Titans Trouble in Tokyo, Tales of the Black Freighter, JL crisis on Two Earths

Total. Crap: Superman IV The Quest for Peace, Batman and Robin, Catwoman, Steel, The Return of the Swamp Thing (but I LOVE this film), Superman II the Richard Donner Cut

Personally, I can see the line here. DC knows what can make a good movie and backs it, Marvel tries to experiement but then half-asses it. IMHO.

There was a really, really bad FF movie that was released in 1994.

Heh, well there's a reason why you're confused about that. See in 94, robert coreman(I believe that's how you spell it) made a FF movie but it was so bad that the studio actually paid them not to release it. It's been seen though through various bootlegs and such. But the question is, which is better? 94 or 05 FF? XD

FF 05 > FF RotSS > FF 94.

Easy. Pffft.

Actually that FF movie was only made so the studio could keep the rights or something. It was mever meant to be released. The people making it were being used unfairly and didn't know about it. It still looks pretty bad though...

It was still made and the bootleg was made readily available to purchase at Mega-Con 96. So it counts!
