Yeah no 2012 references in the movie please. I know Godzilla 2000 did the same with the Y2k, but I don't want this movie try to cash in on the 2012 end of the world hype similar how "End of Days" did back in 1999.

It would be very disappointing if history repeats itself yet again and this becomes another debunct Godzilla film. Doubtfull though being how commited LP is with their film projects but for some reason Godzilla in America always seems to be a last priority.

I notice the Alien Prequel has been push back, then I wonder if it will happen with LPG as well. While 2012 may be a big year for movies, I still think LPG will do fine at the box office. LP and WB are great when it comes to marketing major movies, and they where able to make Clash of the Titans '010 look like a awesome remake which made a lot of people to see the movie.

Lots of big budget films these days are pretty good at picking out release dates before filming even starts.

Personally, I'd be happy with a non-traditional release date, like October or March, if only because it would take the pressure off the film to be a huge blockbuster hit.

That said, I suspect they'll need to take a look at the next draft of the script before they can determine how close they are to filming and how safe it is to set a date.

I'm kind of afraid for that 2012 summer, what with there being so many big superhero franchises. I mean, Spider-man, Batman and avengers? Plus, theres a new superman movie in winter too.

I guess it depends on the budget. If they go for a smaller movie, more akin to hellboy 2, district 9 or cloverfield (from 30 to 80 millions), it might be safer and wiser to release it in mars, like they did with 300, Watchmen and many other movies before, that would have never stood a chance against some of the bigger blockbusters. But august does also sound like a good idea, smaller films like Pirahna or The expendables did pretty well by being release so late in the summer right after the juggernaut of the summer blockbuster.

Let's hope they know what they are doing.

PA3 comes out this October, and its going to be in 3D from what I have been told. The Alien Prequel might be coming out in October 2012, so that might not be a good idea. I still say August 2012 is a good choice.
