Returning this thread back on some more srs rails, I'm going to echo that Michael Giacchino should score it. "Roar!" is friggin' awesome.

The following contains wishful thinking, proceed with caution:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0N42H2cvbcY
Imagine this set to the aftermath of a monster attack.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpAAQrJ93w8
Imagine this set to the army mobilizing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyZhVsO6-2k
Imagine this set for a battle scene.

It's highly improbable a Godzilla film would try to emulate this style, but it would be such a nice change of pace if it happened. If only Hollywood could leave behind the "epic" sounding music for their blockbusters.
Every film should have at least one animal attack.

There is one guy who does some amazing soundtracks but he only does them for games so it's very unlikely he would do music for this film.

On second thought, forget I even said anything.

Although I think it's quite unlikely that he'll do the score, I do like the idea. Last Christmas I listened to his scores for Antarctica and Chariots of Fire and I like his style. Not to mention, his theme for 1492: Conquest of Paradise is truly a masterpiece.

Put this music when Godzilla defeats the other evil monster.

Manowar would be a pretty good choice. Even though its a metal band they're albums always have great orchestral scores.

Why yes, that's a greeeeat idea. And all the songs will have titles like, "Kings of Metal", "Give your soul to Metal", "Metal Warriors". Their albums have cheesy, generic, stereotypical metal. It's like if Tenacious D took themselves seriously. If we're going with a metal band that has good orchestral scores, let Apocalyptica do it. And NOT with the distorted cellos, with some of their actual orchestra style music. They're really talented. BUT, I would rather a band NOT do the score for the movie. We need a composer.

Not really liking it. It's okay, but I'm not feeling Godzilla.

Hans Zimmer made the soundtrack for The Rock.

/topic

Also, Manowar isn't even a bad band. They are a bit cheesy/hammy, but they make decent music.

And if we're going with a band that has great orchestral scores, Blind Guardian is the way to go.

Giacchino should do the soundtrack(with Ifukube's Godzila theme).

I like this fan music, would fit in the movie (at least in my opinion) and has Ifukube in it. A mix I'd love to see in the upcoming movie
