I like that idea! If the story was done that way, then it seems that more enemies could be introduced who tie in to Godzilla's origin as it is revealed.

That's a fairly good idea. Delve into the secrets of the kaiju later on, and bring another kaiju in with similar origins, perhaps?

I'm pretty sure that was sarcasm aimed at the Heisei fanboys, but since this is the internet I not sure.

Nope. He'd make a perfect sequel kaiju if they decide to go that route.

Actually, I was meaning have a kaiju come in that was also hit by nuclear material. Wasn't really thinking about the Oxygen Destroyer at all.

These movies have monster fights but I've never really considered them action films.

It's kind of... lazy. I'd like if they could work it into the actual story. This is his big reboot after all. Yeah, GINO came out 10 years, but f*ck that. This is supposed to the real Godzilla.

I agree completely.

I don't like the idea of taking what could be a huge plot and shoving it into the credits. His origin, original or revamped, should be in the new movie.

The only way that can even be done is if this is a period movie. And I f'n hope it's not.
If not the credits, a short 10-minute origin before opening creds, sorta' like Jason's in the Friday the 13th movie.

I guess I should clarify a bit. By origin, I'm talking about more than the bomb blowing up. I'm talking about the reveal of the monster, learning about him, finding out his strengths and weaknesses, dealing with him attacking a city, is he hero or villain? etc. The origin story of Batman is more than his parents getting shot. Same with the big G. The only monster movies we've -really- had in America in several years... well it's pretty much Cloverfield. There's a lot you can do with a simple monster-on-the-loose plot if you dig into the simple things. The hiring of this director, to me, points to them doing this.

I also said 'original or re-vamped'. If his origins are nuclear, awesome. I want to see it portrayed somehow on film. If his origins are different, then it -better- be portrayed on film somehow. Remember the original script for GINO had Godzilla as an alien planted monster designed as a protector for Earth? If they go a strange route like that, I want to have the explanation included.

I doubt they will give Godzilla a nuclear origin.

I would rather seeing Godzilla being created by american nukes.

I can totally see them blaming Godzilla on North Korea.

Which reminds me. I want the military characters to a minimum. But that's a different topic i guess.
