Good screenplays take at least a month or so. The 3rd Nolan Batman screenplay took a month and half to be finish from what I have been told.

It can take up to 6 months to polish a 10 minutes movie. A feature lenght one does NOT take a month. You'll get maybe a first draft, but every writers will tell you a first draft is just that, a first draft. You didn't get Seven Samurai or usual suspects after one draft.

Except if you are the most experienced writer in the world, but even then, you'd know not to stop at one draft. ;)

As for batman, i'd be very much surprise. Very. The most I could say would be if they already had the whole story planned for months before they wrote the first draft. And seeing as this is a new writer (or might be), and that the director just got the job, i'd be surprise if the whole story is already flesh out. We probably won't get a good script till at least this summer.

But who knows, maybe they got a younger director and writer because they wanted the whole thing rush, and they are counting on their youth to work like crazies to have the script ready super soon. I guess everything is possible.

Another guy I've never heard of nor seen his works. Not sure how I feel about this, guess I'll have to wait and see.

I don't think Timur has been officialy hire just yet. It seems like Edwards is saying he is in talks with him to write the movie.

Well he did direct a movie that was a box office hit back in 2008 and his new movie looks good as well.

Nah, that's BS. Polishing, sure but there's no way a screenplay takes a month and a half to make from start to finish. Especially when millions of dollars are at stake.

As long as he does his job and pays attention to what the fans are hoping for, Idc if Day Watch was a POS.

its good that everyone is repeating everything i have already stated as for a good screenplay taking time

my first short film that's ten minutes long took six months of tweaking and it still took another 6 months of planning
it took a year before we shot a single frame...its ten minutes long

if they do it in a month and a half then it will be garbage just like a certain 90's remake
And if you wonder how he eats and breaths and other science facts, just keep thinking to yourself, its just a show you should really just relax.....

Well its better then having "Paul Anderson" or the director behind Jason X (His name escapes me). I like these choices so far and I'm pretty sure LP knows what they are doing. All of the producer seem to love Godzilla and want to make sure that this movie will not suck.

I'm excited I must admit, Wanted was mostly well received and mostly had generally positive reviews and statements from critics. It wasn't a perfect OMG film, but it was pretty good.

Hell, Wanted even won the Empire Award of Best Sci-Fi/Superhero Movie of 2008, and was nominated mostly upon other awards and Wanted was a box office hit. Although some of the direct source material was moved away from, but overall it still did well. Hope that doesn't happen with Godzilla 2010, GINO did mostly that and tried to be realistic.

Edwards can give Godzilla 2012 substance and proper human drama, while the director of Wanted, gives the film its amazing action sequences and takes. It's a pretty damn good balance IMO.

I'm gald that we did not got Shane Salerno (Ghost Rider, AVPR) to write this movie. I mean one of my biggest worries with this movie is that LP would pick popcorn flick writers and directors to make this movie.

I honestly don't know much about this guy. I really liked Wanted, but I've never read the comics. I will admit that a part of me is a bit worried if he has a reputation for changing or altering things from the original source material, but hopefully Toho keeps a good eye out to make sure nothing like that gets through.

I doubt the producers of this movie will allow him to change anything about Godzilla. I'm gald we got this guy then the writer of "Doom" (2005).

yeah Doom..DOOM was pretty awful...coarse most of DWAYNE THE ROCK JOHNSON"S movies suck....except the Rundown...i liked that on probably because of SEAN WILLIAM SCOTT i find him kind of funny

the only way we can be assured of anything between now and the release date (unless the script leaks) is to see how long they take to write the drokken thing...then we go into production stills and from there we go to posters and trailers....its a process

Thanks to xenotactics for posting this infomation. Timur Bekmambetov is Russian film and advertisement director that directed "Wanted" back in 2008, and is directing "Apollo 18" this March. He also wrote "Night Watch" (2004) which was ranked #100 in Empire magazines "The 100 Best Films Of World Cinema" in 2010. He also the producer of "9" (2009) as well.

Actually that's an entirely seperate sci-fi project the two are working on and was announced in the last news article that revealed the director:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/blogs/heat-vision/monsters-director-stomps-gozilla-68246?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+thr%2Ffilm+%28The+Hollywood+Reporter+-+Movies%29

"It also landed him work with Timur Bekmambetov on an epic sci-fi project that he is writing as a directing vehicle."

Oh I see. Thanks for pointing that out Avery. Well it looks like we might have to wait a bit longer for a writer.
