Young Justice (TV cartoon)

Postby wataru » Mon Jan 03, 2011 4:52 pm

So did anyone else check on the 11/26 sneak peak pilot of this show?

Basically, its Young Justice (pre-modern Teen Titans) using a mix of past and present side kicks, around a Superboy origin story with a new mission statement.

Superboy - the pilot was his origin and it was 90% the same as the comics
Robin - Dick Grayson, not Tim Drake
Kid Flash - Wally West, NOT Bart Allen and he's obviously from COIE when he could only run speed of sound
Aqualad - based on the new Brightest Day version
Miss Martian - same, but unsure if she'll turn out to be a white Martian.
Nemesis - fill in for Arrowette

No Wonder Girl! YESSSSSS!!! I want Miss Martian + Superboy. The art is influed by aspects of The Batman. It is NOT JLA/JLU canon (thank god..)

DISCUSS! I LOVE it.

I do look forward to it, I need something that will fill the void that Teen Titans so carelessly left.

Itll star JLA characters, but not as a the stars. Like guest stars.

Regular JLa characters are going to be Black Canary, Batman, Red Tornado and Superman often

I missed the preview. Nuts.

But I want to see the show, it looks awesome. I hope the time it's on is where I can catch it. Otherwise, I hope for reruns at different times or On Demand.
I was mentioned in the SciFi Japan article about the appearence of extras on the Godzilla vs. Megalon DVD.

Wow nothing on this in over a year? But given that CN has jacked with this shows schedule so much, I can completely understand. After a 2nd long hiatus the show is back with new episodes (for now anyway). What can I say. Every episode of this show gets better, there really haven't been any bad ones. And as much as I cherish B:TAS, S:TAS & Justice League, THIS show is really pushing its way to being one of the greats, my only fear is that CN will screw it up by having additional lengthy periods of not showing new episodes. I cant tell you how many times I've had to debunmk rumors of this shows cancellation just because new epsidoes haven't aired in 4 months.

Episode 19 "Misplaced" aired this past Saturday. I loved the plot twist of BIlly Batson/Captain Marvel being able to travel between the Adult/Child dimensions to unify the 2 teams efforts to defeat Klarion. I never liked that kid, even from his one appearance in the later episodes of Batman:TAS (I think it had Etrigan in it?). But I guess he makes a formidable, and appropriate foe for this series. I cant wait to see more. According to Wikipedia (take with a grain of salt), we are getting new episodes at least for the next 4 weeks, through the end of March. Hopefully the last 3 episodes of the season wont be held too long after that, (considering Clone Wars season is ending, and they need something to pair up with Green Lantern).

^ I saw that episode yesterday. Not bad at all. I haven't watched this show since the episode where they got stranded in a desert with amnesia, but I'm thinking maybe I should try to get caught up. It's better than I'd remembered.

Im watching episode 19 tonight.

I LOVE this show. IMHO it's the best animated DC feature since Batman Beyond. It's so original - and doesnt take place in the DCAU. It's on Earth-15. My favorite episode is the one with Infinity Man. That got me into Jack Kirby's New Gods.

CN is pissing me off as well, o.supreme. I watch Thundercats as well but the Irish are getting new episodes and we arent XO

Teen Titans got old fast. Like by Season 2 I was sick of the anime inspired humor.

Yeah, and the "fans" at the Thudercats board I've been to a couple times dont play nice, the wont even let you PM people to tell them where you can watch online. But I've heard Ireland only got 2 new episodes that aired on one saturday sometime in February. I believe CN will begin airing new Thudercats on 3/24 (Presumably because Clone Wars season is ending the week before). Again, Wikipedia, not always the most reliable source of info, but at least its something.

Also, thanks for the explanation of the Earth-15 (I knew it wasn't DCAU, I just figured it was a made up "animated" continuity). I wondered what the whole story was with Fate's helmet and the wearer being stuck basically because "Fate" didn't have a body of his own, and didn't want to give it up. I had never seen this before with other versions of Dr. Fate.

I need DVR, I keep missing it. I hope they release more than four episodes on DVD at a time, I haven't checked on that in ages.
