It's pretty quick for people to be assuming that the project's dead. I mean, it takes a long time for things to get done making a movie and just because they aren't telling us anything doesn't mean things aren't getting done. Just look at the Spider-Man reboot. They've done nothing but announce it and put out one picture and a few interviews that reveal absolutely nothing, and this is a high-profile production. A much LESS high-profile production (Like Godzilla) won't be revealing nearly as much. I wouldn't be surprised if they have some creature designs finished already and have gotten pretty far into preproduction, even if they haven't revealed anything just yet. But then again, the project COULD be dead, but right now we just don't have enough information to support either idea.
I also wouldn't be surprised if it was delayed until 2013. Just sayin'.

This is also true. They've made announcements, and it's almost certain the movie's going to be completed.

I haven't seen any official poster. I know they had the background for the press release with Andrew Garfield, but that was just recycling the old background from the Raimi series. Believe me, I'd probably be one of the first people to see an official poster as I am a huge Spidey geek. But then again I could have missed something.

Hard to believe the Alien prequel has more infomation then this movie as well, and Godzilla is a bigger series then A/P. Not to mention G98 made more money then A:R and AVP movies did as well.

The reason why the SM reboot has more info since Sony is moving forward to the project already. If they don't make the movie by 2013 then they lose the rights to Spider-Man.

No its official, Sony released it at the comic con IIRC? I think why Spider-Man and Alien Prequel have more info is because those movies are already moving forward for a while now. I hope LP kicks off this movie soon.

It's just a placeholder. I foresee an OFFICIAL official poster in the near future, with a different font and probably a different title (Unless they're just going to call it the same thing which, frankly, would be retarded.)
As for Godzilla, we got the Comic Con t-shirt. That counts as something, right? But until then, let's just be a bit more patient. Giving out a lot of information right now would just be stupid on LP's part, because anticipation is the best form of hype. Plus, it's so early in development that things could rapidly change.

I was thinking we should get a teaser during the release of Harry Poter: TDH Part 2 as the best way to hype up the movie. But I don't see that happening if we have no director, writer, and no filming date yet.

Doesnt mean we can't get a teaser. We atleast need a director. Alot of teasers shoot before the actual films, like alot of JJ Abrams projects.

If you really look at the Brian Rogers interview you can conclude that nothing at this point is for certain. He admitted this being "a pretty large project to set up" and never really made any promises. Whatever is going on over at LP I would like to think that they have something to work with by now. I also hope that whoever steps up as director will turn out to be a godsend. I wouldn't rule this project out just yet, theres still time for something to come up. But rumors should start surfacing sooner than any official announcements.
