who here uses these? i never really used them before, but i just bought one for my dsi yesterday and i really like it...

one question though...

i have Heartgold, i selected the cheats i want... started the game up, chose to continue my game, but instead of my game, it brought the main screen up again. (ho-oh flying) i selected continure again, and it worked... pushed L+R like the instruction for the codes stated... and they didnt work... i tried this several times... can someone help?

I'm not sure, but I'm just gonna say this, be careful, those things can screw your game up!

I used to use them back on the NES when it was Game Genie but it honestly takes the enjoyment out of games.

Like Hedorah said you can really mess your game up with those.

My Ruby game is completely messed up, I can't teach any TM's or HM's (Thankfully I already had my HM whore), and if I try to go to that section of the bag it freezes up. But hey at least it is still playable, I got lucky I guess. It's fun at first though.

Found an interesting hack that makes Resident Evil 4 look like Silent Hill, and replaces some of the baddies with Dark Link.

And another that replaces the baddies with Pedo Bear.

I use it the only way these can screw up your games is if the code is wrong I always check my codes to see if they are correct if not I don't use them. I started using these way back when Pokemon Yellow was out they came out with the Gameboy Color Gameshark. I use these cause for few reasons: 1. I played alone during Gameboy days and all that was around my block were kids to trade with me I was 15 at the time when Red came out. 2. I don't live in a big city that holds events that are special which blows. Nor do I have a Toys R US. 3. Like helping others who don't have the event Pokemon. I clone the ones I get for example Gamestop's Pokemon. I get them legitly, come home and clone the Pokemon for people who can't get them. For example Canada doesn't get Gamestop Pokemon or TRU Pokemon.

But I have rules for these Pokemon if anyone wants them. You mustn't be in any Nintendo event with your Pokemon games. Far as I heard from someone, Nintendo will check your games and if the Pokemon in your games are hacked they'll take them away and destroy it and give you a new game not sure if thats true or not but it seems Nintendo doesn't want no hackers like AR to get Pokemon. The only hacking device I ever had first was Game Genie back in 1988 or something. I don't have it anymore which sucks cause it has value now. :(

I used Action reply for my GBA, and DS before. I used to speed up the levels for my Pokemon's. I used to use Gamestark a lot in the PS1 days for Final Fantasy 7, and Digmon World 2-3.

1. That's...really a relative issue. Depends on what you use it for too. For example, I love using an Action Replay to enhance the gameplay experience, such as simply changing the camera in HeartGold to make it a static 2D camera like in the previous games(for nostalgia reasons), or using the Debug Menu in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Honestly, it sorta bugs me that people just don't like "cheat" devices like Action Replay simply because many use it to go through the game without any effort.

2. You'd have to do something stupid, like running too many codes at once, running a corrupt code/one you put in at random, or messing with vital information in the game code.

As for your problems here Zilla, not much I can say. What code are you trying to run, and when are you pressing L+R?

the codes were already uploaded to the AR when i bought it. but they are the max cash, Max Mom savings, restore health, 1 hit kill, easy capture, Can capture trainer pokemon, 200x experience, all items, all pokegear upgrades, and complete phonebook.

i already beat the game... i was just messing around with the AR

You probably have to many codes in at once.

Probably that's not the issue I have many codes of Pokemon and none screw up my game. Is there other game codes in your AR that you don't need besides Pokemon?

Now you can imput more codes for your Pokemon game in your AR. I would just choose the games I use for AR like Pokemon only. To me other games are useless since I don't use them.

Pokemon Ranger isnt Mystery Dungeon....

mystery dungeon is the game where you are a pokemon.

Ranger is when you sporadiclly spin the stylus around a pokemon to catch it... use it once... and let it go...
