What album did you JUST listen too?

Postby Godzilla2000 » Tue Jul 27, 2010 6:22 am

Hey guys, I created this thread so people can make reviews for any albums they had just listened to. Please don't post here everyday to up your post count, it is preferable that you post at least two reviews at a time.

You need a rating system, explain how you feel about the band and album, and say if you would recommend it.

Here goes nothing.

Hellybilly Deluxe - Rob Zombie: By far Zombie's greatest work, I decided to give it another listen, and I'm just as impressed as I was when
I first listened to it. Meet the Creeper was my personal favorite song. Rob Zombie still has his touch today, but I don't think he'll ever top this. Don't listen if you don't like heavy music, but if you do, this is an iPod staple. I give it 4.5 Superbeasts out of 5.

Congregation of the Damned - Atreyu: This is Atreyu's 5th and newest studio album, and this is their best work since A Death-Grip on Yesterday. Alex Varkatzas' screaming is actually a part of the song, not an afterthought like in Lead Sails Paper Anchor. For every rock song, there is a a violent kicker to get your heart pumping. Black Days Begin and Gallows are the two best songs to be heard here. I love Atreyu, and it's great to see they aren't losing their touch with age. 4.4 Black Days out of 5.

A small ammount from the Chulip soundtrack. Man I want that soundtrack so bad, but it's near impossible to find.

KoRn III - Great album, I like all of the songs on it expect for a few songs like "Move On", and "Holding all these Lies". 8/10 for me.

One of box set albums of "The Doors". Great band. I actively listen to '50s, '60s, and '70s-era rock music nowadays, really good stuff.

Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold. Even with the Rev's passing back in December, the group managed to pull together one heck of an album and a heck of a goodbye to their old friend.

Cover's gonna give me nightmares for weeks, though.

Korn: Untitled.
Gotta admit, I like this album better than "See You On The Other Side". I dont think I dislike a track on "Untitled".

Godzilla: The Album, actually. Has some decent tracks.
Or for non-Toho related: American Idiot by Green Day.

I listen to Nimrod every now and then, American Idiot was fun.

I'm listening to Interpol's Turn off the bright lights.

Metridium Fields, by Giant Squid. Creepy, ocean inspired heavy metal. Slow, methodic, spooky, sorta' punkish.

Systematic Chaos by Dream Theater. Thought I'd give it another chance, but it's still my least favorite album from them.

Hellbilly Deluxe 2 from Rob Zombie. What a huge letdown for me, there are not really any songs I like from this album. I was hoping it would be just as good as Hellbilly Deluxe or The Sinister Urge. 2/5
