Don't ask for them. The Trendmasters figures are horrible. They don't even look like the monsters they're based on, not to mention there's forty different sizes you can buy each in, which have half of the same parts anyway.

dont listen to JVM, the trendmasters figures are great. they are unique redesigns. ive been hunting them down for a long time now. as well as a few others on here... JVM just thinks that hes cool if he trash talks every thing, including stuff he buys...

I like Trendmasters too part of my child hood. :) Anyway I found GMK Ghidorah BC on ebay offered it for a good price and the seller accepted. He's loose but I'm glad I found him. I'll get the GMK Godzilla next since I'm watching one. I'll post the pic of Ghidorah when he comes in the mail. :D

they look awful similar to me... sure a little bit of proportion issues... but still

again, slight proportion issues, and the strange webbing in the horns... but still very faithful, especially the face.

coloring is spot on... wings are too small tho...

need i say more?

Ugh, the TM Godzilla and King Ghidora figures you just linked to look like shit. It's amazing that you could post side-by-side photos of the TM Ghidora and the actual suit and call it faithful. Listen, I know everyone probably has a boner for these pathetic toys because they were easy to find, cheap as hell, and for most of you were probably your first exposure to Godzilla toys. But let's call a spade a spade here. They were cheaply made by a company who cared less and less about quality control and likenesses as the line went on. I loved these things too when they were brand new. Then I woke up and realized that while it's okay to like the figures for nostalgic reasons, defending their quality or accuracy it pretty effin' stupid.

And the Mothra toy you're picturing above is a Bandai figure, zilla103192. But that's okay. Trendmasters apparently had so little faith in their own product that they used a Bandai toy and a Wave vinyl model kit to represent Battra and Gigan on their packaging, fooling many of us in the '90s before the figures were released. Idiotic.

the Trendmasters toys are kind of like Godzilla on steroids, which caters perfectly to the target audience of little boys but isn't exactly what I'd call accurate. I own a few of the smaller ones but I didn't own them as a kid so they don't really appeal to me. they're cool for what they are, and I can understand why people would collect them and I wouldn't deter them from it, but you can't really insist that they're faithful to the suit designs.

it's like if I were to defend the Jurassic Park toys on the basis of accuracy. I love those toys because they look cool and have tons of nostalgia value, but there's no way in hell they're similar to real dinosaurs or even their movie counterparts. lol

The only TM toys that were faithful to the actual designs were the ones that RIPPED OFF BANDAI FIGURES.

there's no need to get so worked up about it. they're just toys :P

although I have to say I don't see how being faithful to the design means ripping off the Bandais. if they were both going for the same thing, they're going to look the same. of course that's just what I got out of your post, since I haven't really ever compared the Trendmasters with the Bandais. either way it doesn't matter much; people like what they like. while I definitely don't, some people might really like the Trendmasters better. live and let live I suppose. :P

TM's 10" Electronic Mechagodzilla uses the exact same mold as the Bandai 1993 DX Mechagodzilla, with just a few minor cosmetic differences. The 4" TM Mechagodzilla is also pretty much the same as the Bandai 4" "Big Godzilla" series Mechagodzilla. The 4" TM Godzilla is also very similar to the Bandai Godzilla in that same series.

I love the TM toyline since they have tons of nostalgia value for me, and that they help made Godzilla popular again by introducing to a new generation of fans. I think the TM toyline is a either "You love or hate it" type of thing. Besides I enjoy them a lot more then the shitty BC stuff if you ask me.

^ Nostalgia is a completely different story.

The TM toys hold a skreeonk of nostalgia for me. But that doesn't mean I'm going to let nostalgia get in the way and say 'oh, TM toys are awesome' Just because I have memories with a toy doesn't make it good or accurate. Sure, my first Godzilla toy which I had before I saw a film was a toy, but that doesn't make it a good toy - doesn't mean I don't love it, either.

Besides I enjoy them a lot more then the shitty BC stuff if you ask me.

All American-made Godzilla toys suck, BC or TM.

Why can't people just buy Bandai Japan? I mean I don't because I'm a cheap ass bastard but that's different.

I'm not a fan of the Bandai Japan stuff neither since they don't feel special to me. I perfer X-Plus and Revoltech figures IMO.

Well that's fine, keep buying those, those are fine figures. That was more aimed at the people who collect TM and BC stuff.

stop being a dick.

if people like TM or BC figures that's their decision and it doesn't make them any less of a collector. has it ever occurred to you that people have a right to spend their money on things that they like and they don't have to feel obligated to buy Japanese figures just because you (who I might add, has admitted you don't know jack shit about the Japanese figures) say they're 'superior'? they might be superior in your eyes but your taste doesn't dictate what someone else has to spend their money on.

I'm usually pretty chill but one thing I can't stand is elitist pricks. shut the skreeonk up.

It's their decision, you're right, I'm just advising them that they're money'd be better spent elsewhere.

has it ever occurred to you that people have a right to spend their money on things that they like and they don't have to feel obligated to buy Japanese figures just because you (who I might add, has admitted you don't know jack shit about the Japanese figures) say they're 'superior'?

Yes it has. It's occurred to me several times. But I don't want people to end up like me, wasting all of their money on the crappy figures :/ I don't want other people to end up with big collections of crap. I'd rather they end up with small collections of accurate, realistic figures. People can spend their money on what they want, I'm just trying to prevent bad investments.

they might be superior in your eyes but your taste doesn't dictate what someone else has to spend their money on.

This has nothing to do with my taste. Frankly there's no figures out there that suit my taste - which is why I've stopped collecting. This is about stopping people from wasting money.

I'm usually pretty chill but one thing I can't stand is elitist pricks. shut the skreeonk up.

If I could tell all the elitist pricks around here that pissed me off to shut up, it'd be a great place. Unfortunately, the board doesn't work that way and the elitist pricks are the ones dominating the board.

Alas though, I shall shut up. I've done my job.

If the person likes the figure, and is glad to have it, its not a waste of money.

I may seem a waste to YOU, but since you're not buying the figures, you dont need to bitch.

Its a figure. They look at it and go "that looks cool, I want it." End of story. These things arent delicate, and they arent made of lead, so if someone likes the figure, and wants it, whats the skreeonk problem???

I have multiple BC figures, and I'm glad to have all of them in my collection. I dont feel I wasted any money; I'm happy to have bought them.

Dont worry so much about what other people spend their money on; its not your business to tell people what and what not to buy, especially when it comes to simple vinyl toys.

Hating BC seems to be the "thing" these days. I for one love some of their recent figures, especially their 12 inch Gigan. Their old Burning Godzilla was cool, too. American made Goji toys are not all crap.

On topic, just bought the Revoltech Alien and Alien Queen with Anguirus soon to follow.

*struggles to keep lips zipped tightly shut*

Last figure I bought was a Trendmasters Gigan around October. Probably my favorite Trendmasters figure. God awful design, but more poseable than most of the other figures.
