Godzilla Save the Earth Tier List

I am going to work on a tier list for Godzilla Save the Earth as I can never find one, and I don't quite know who is the best or worst characters. So, I need your help with creating said tier list. Please be as unbiased as possible when giving suggestions, remember a tier list isn't just who is the fastest, strongest, etc. All names will be credited with each version (if there are multiple) that is published.

Please do a format of S-E. S being the highest, C being middle tier, and E being the worst. If a kaiju feels weaker than even an E, then another tier will be added. Which will most likely not happen due to the small kaiju pool.

Should we include Biollante for Save the Earth? Technically, she is in the game, and is playable, but can only be acquired through hacks and stuff.

Leave Biollante out, she is not a completed character (playable on the PS2, but still, her moveset and animations are not completely in there)

C - Baragon, Godzilla 90's, Godzilla 2000, Jet Jaguar, Kiryu, Mechagodzilla 2, Megaguirus, Megalon,
E - Moguera 2, Mothra, Rodan

Off the top of my head:

Elite Tier: King Ghidorah

Top Tier: Gigan, Space Godzilla, Megaguirus, Anguirus, Orga

Mid Tier: Godzilla 2000, Godzilla 90s, Jet Jaguar, Mothra, Rodan, Destoroyah, Kiryu

Low Tier: Mecha King Ghidorah, Megalon, Mechagodzilla 2

Bottom Tier: MOGUERA, Baragon


One of my favorite matchups is Baragon vs. King Ghidorah. Very challenging against a skilled KG player!

Well, naturally I like to think the gap between high and low is fairly small...

He's low tier in my opinion because he has huge weakness to energy attacks - balanced out by his shield which allows him to actually GAIN health from those energy attacks. But a skilled opponent will NEVER fire a weapon while he's on the ground (meaning he never has a chance to use his shield) and will FREQUENTLY blast him when he's in the air/prone/etc. When an opponent can take advantage of a weakness and eliminate the balancing strength - the character ends up worse for wear.

Similarly, MOGUERA can be serously nerfed if you play a specific sort of keep-away game to eliminate his two most powerful/energy efficient weapons.

King Ghidorah is one of the very best, because he mixes strong melee skills with incredible resistances, AND has low-energy interrupt techniques.

lol I just wanted to create a tier list for those who want it. Reason being, I don't see a tier list anywhere for the games, or at least a visual one. Also, I don't play the games competitively .

now I may be wrong here(because I haven't really played STE hardly at all) but I recall Mechagodzilla II being OP. Was he nerfed in this game?

Yes, his defense stat was lower than the previous game, and his attacks here are more costly

Someone should do a DAMM tier list

Orga and Mechagodzilla 2 (or just Mechagodzilla in GameCube Version) are gonna be A

Actually, Mechagodzilla was pretty vanilla in DAMM. But our AI programmer spent quite a bit of time hyper-tuning the AI system to work with his attacks - to make him a harder boss. So although he's much harder to beat - that's just because the AI was literally built around his capabilities.

Very interesting list!

Biggest surprises to me are how high you place Megalon, Mothra, and Baragon. Would you care to comment on how you see them? Especially Mothra - is your opinion based on strong larva play, or what?
