Re: The Merchandise Thread
Getting it faster is great- but this time next week it wouldn't have mattered how fast you would have gotten it, and instead you'd just be a few dollars less.
Your call. It's not crazy like paying $200 for the Jakks figure when it'll be $50 in a few weeks.

Well I just called the comic shop and they said they are all sold out of the graphic novel. The store has been open for about 2 hours. I knew I should have woken up earlier. hopefully other's will have luck.

^ Hopefully! I guess I can wait till next week. I need to save my money anyway. I am not a big comic guy, I would just want to read this for the story. It will be a nice companion to the film and the novelization.

Re: The Merchandise Thread
Probably pre order Awakening, Art of Destruction, and the soundtrack tomorrow. Even if I don't end up liking the score I'll still pick up the soundtrack anyway. I did with Megaguirus.tokyostateofmind wrote:^ Hopefully! I guess I can wait till next week. I need to save my money anyway. I am not a big comic guy, I would just want to read this for the story. Not sure if it'll be the same where you live but Walmart's Godzilla dispaly was up front near the registers. I didn't see a single disc back with the other Blurays in Electronics for some reason.

Yeah, I saw that little Toho Godzilla Collection display at my local Walmart too and they were all sold out except for one! I was happily surprised.

I don't see any Godzilla DVDs in that picture. Only the new Sony Blu-ray packs.

The Blu-rays are:
-Godzilla vs Destoroyah/Megaguirus
-Tokyo SOS/Final Wars
-Godzilla vs King Ghidorah/Mothra
-Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II/ SpaceGodzilla
I believe there's already a thread for these packs in the DvDs section.

Re: The Merchandise Thread
PSN has a lot of new Godzilla stuff from what I hear. So far I've only seen a theme background. Someone who isn't currently busy on their PS3, mind going in and sharing the full sweep?

I just checked the Playstation store via PS3 & didn't see anything new Sony didn't already have up which includes the previous movies they own, the first theatrical trailer & the Blue Oyster Cult song for Rock Band.Starsteam wrote:PSN has a lot of new Godzilla stuff from what I hear. Re: The Merchandise Thread
I got a copy, and it's not bad, but honestly it's not a must-read addition to the movie's plot IMO. I doubt there will be any reference in the movie to any of the particular events that take place in Awakening. The interior art ranges from very good to merely OK in parts. There's a few elements that just seem off, and I'm pretty sure won't be reflected in the movie.saxophonejones wrote:I just called my local comic store and they will have Awakening in tomorrow!
I'd say it's only slightly more relevant to the Godzilla movie than Pacific Rim: Year Zero was to that movie (and I consider that PR comic a huge missed opportunity in terms of the kaiju attacks and Jaeger tests it could have shown us but didn't).

(Is that a PS2? What year was this taken?)
Gotta admit, 50 inches tall is pretty big.
