The title said it all, post the last movie you watch but read the rules of the thread before you post.

gvamp wrote:This thread is going to be heavly moderated

Okay we're going to try this a third time these are the rules of the thread:

-One post Bi-Daily consisting of at least 2 movies with a brief spoiler free synopsis of the film and then your opinion of the movie and preferably some type of rating system. Or you may post one film but if you post one film you have to wait five days before posting again

-If it's a movie everyone here has most likely seen for example one of the Godzilla flicks you may omit the synopsis.

-You may post as often as you want if you're discussing a movie that someone has seen

-Bi-Daily doesn't mean once 48 hours is up you can post again wait at least 50 or more hours before you post.

-There will be no warnings about punishments, first offense equals a two week ban from the thread, second offense equals a month, third offense equals perma ban from the thread or until a mod or admin gives you permission to post again. You will be told about your punishment in the thread so people know to not break the rules.

-If there is only one group of people posting in this topic or if the rules are constantly broken then the thread is locked and there won't be another one.

-Last but not least if you don't agree with someone's opinion debate about it civilly don't say someone is stupid because they like a movie you don't or vice versa.

Credit goes to GVAMP. Here are the last movies I watched:

Fired Up! (2009):
The two most popular guys in high school decide to ditch football camp for cheerleader camp. They fall in love with a person named Carly, and must come up with some surprising new moves to prove Shawns intentions before the all-important cheer competition finals.

I rent this movie at the red box like a week ago since I had nothing else to do. The movie had a few good laughs, and the acting is decent. The movie was extremely predictable, most of the jokes where lame. The whole idea of two guys that join a cheerleader camp was just a stupid idea, and the dialogue is awful. One of the worst movies of 2009.

2/5

Despicable Me (2010):
A evil guy named Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) is planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to strink the Moon by stealing a shrink ray. Then he later buys three orphan girls as pawns for a grand scheme, he finds himself profoundly changed by the growing love between them.

I was going to see Inception last weekend, but I was not able to see it due to the show times of the movie. So I saw Despicable Me instend, and thought it was a good movie. I thought the movie had with a funny and lighthearted storyline, and good character devoplment. Overall I enjoy the movie a lot.

4/5

Evangelion 1.11 (Enigish dub, 2010):
Shinji Ikari is sent for by his estranged father, Gendo at the beginning of the film. As he wanders around the town, which has been shut down over an emergency announcement, he is caught in the crossfire between the U.N. army and the fourth Angel. Rescued by Lt. Colonel Misato Katsuragi, Shinji is brought to Tokyo-3 and NERV headquarters, where he is pressured by Gendo, NERV's Supreme Commander, into piloting the Evangelion Unit-01 against the Angel because the other Evangelion pilot, the mysterious Rei Ayanami, is too injured to do so.

Other then a few sceens it's nothing really different then 1.0, and that picture looks so much better looking too. I watch this movie on Blu Ray at my Uncle's home movie theater a few days ago, it was amazing to watch. Watching the movie on blu ray on a HD TV screen was amazing, and the movie is still awesome as always.

Inception (2010) -
A bunch of guys "steal" secrets by going into peoples dreams, they end up being hired to plant an idea in some guys head. I don't wanna spoil much, GO SEE IT ASAP if you haven't!

Death at a Funeral

A very varied film, heh. Some parts of it were really funny, other parts were gross out humor. Basically, the film is about a funeral within a very messed up family. A guy tries to blackmail them, a guy is accidentally slipped marijuana, and a lot of other stuff. Overall, I still think it was a pretty good film. 7/10.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

I saw it with some friends. This film is definitely a comedic classic and has been rip offed/homaged too many times to count. It of course, is about some Knights who decide to search for the Holy Grail after God makes them do it to motivate the peasants or something like that. My favorite parts are the Tale of Sir. Lancelot, the Killer Rabbit, and the Black Knight scene. My only complaints are the occasional repetitive humor. 9/10

Watched "Punisher: War Zone" earlier. Fun flick, better than either of the previous films. I did feel there wasn't as much focus on Castle as there should have been, particularly his troubles with killing the FBI agent. So as a result, he came off as a bit flat, not helped by Ray Stevenson's performance; Ray gives it good, but he could've injected a little more variety into Castle's persona.

Still, its a fun, bloody good film. Jigsaw's speech to the gangsters is comedy gold.

Taxi Driver (1976) - This is an insanely good movie. You journey along with this terribly depressed and lonely young man and for some reason you feel and understand what he does. I don't know if that's just me, but whatever. I like weird movies about weird people. I think it's normal for people to feel that way sometimes, but what this movie teaches us is that we shouldn't act upon those impulses. 5/5

The Descent: Part 2 (2009) - The first film is one of the best modern horror films. It was spooky even before the monsters showed up. But everything about this feels done before and stock. The characters are names with some dialogue and the Crawlers don't nearly look as good this time around. There's even a fight in a pile of crap. This entire movie is a pile of crap. 2/5

Bangkok Dangerous (1999):
The movies deals with a deaf-mute hitman and his partner who are based in Bangkok. He is friends with his partner's girlfriend who is a stripper at a local club. They go about their assassination business as usual as the boss climbs the underworld ladder and forms new a gang mob.

I enjoy this movie, and It was better then I thought it would be. The action sceens in this movie where great, and very stylish to watched. The editing was excellent, and I like the whole idea of a deaf hitman since it has been done for a action movie at the time. The acting was pretty good as well since I like the actor that played Kong in the movie. Much better then the awful remake that was released back in 08.

4/5

Mad Money (2008):
The movie deals with three women that work for Federal Reserve, and plan to steal money from a bank. They where able to steal the money from the bank, and later that Bridget hires a tax attorney to defend them. The lawyer gets Bridget and all her accomplices off the hook for their crimes.

I watched this movie a few days ago since I've had nothing else to do on a Saturday afternoon. The film is pretty boring and dull. None of the jokes where funny, the plot was decent, and some of the actors in the movie where good. Nothing else to say about this other then don't watch it unless you have nothing else to do.

2/5

Hot Tub Time Machine (2010):
The movie deals with a guy named Adam (John Cusack, Con Air and 2012) just been dumped by yet another girlfriend, and three of his friends along with his nephew Jacob (Clark Duke, Kick Ass) go on a winter resort that was their old party place back in 1986. They get in the Hot Tub, and somehow the hot tub takes them back to 86, on a fateful night for each of them. So they have the night of their lives, and also find alway to get back home.

This was a fun movie, and I found the movie to be very entertaining. The jokes where very funny, and had a good amount of laugh-out-loud moments. The characters where cool too like Lou for example. Not the best comedy ever, overall the movie was very entertaining to watched.

Wall-E (2008)-
The movie depicts a dystopian society where overpollution has forced humanity to go on an exodus to space. Wall-e is a clean-up robot, staying on Earth to clean up the trash. After a few decades, another robot named EVE lands on Earth to check if any plant life has started to sprout. The two robots then go on an adventure.

The main thing which made me love this movie was how it brilliantly told alot without the robots really saying anything. Along with that, there were many clever gags, fantastic visuals, and a (going to lose man points here) sweet underlying love story. Of all the Pixar films I've seen, it's my personal favorite. But please, stop beating the whole "don't pollute" message into my head; I'm still reeling from Avatar. 9.8/10

Toy Story 3 (2010)-
Basically, Andy's going to college, and his faithful toys are inadvertently sent to a daycare. At first, it looks like paradise. But things soon take a quick downturn.

I'm going to get torn apart for this, but this movie was not the gem which I expected it would be. Don't get me wrong, it was damn good, and the ending truly wowed me, but for some reason the middle of the movie just did not completely click with me. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it was a great way to close a trilogy, but it just wasn't enough for me to literally leave me speechless. Sorry, guys. 9.1/10

The movies that I have watched in the past few days.

Spawn (1997):
Based on the Image Comic character with the same name. The movie deals with a guy named Al Simmons who has been double-crossed and murdered by his evil boss Jason Wynn. Al makes a deal with a demon named "Malebolgia" and returns to earth as Spawn to see his wife. He is ordered by The Clown, to kill Wynn. Wynn has made a deal with the clown too and is suppose to destroy the Earth with a deadly virus that will help start Armageddon and allow Hell to attack Heaven. So Spawn must stop Wyn, and The Clown from taking over the Universe.

It been 13 years since this movie cameout, and I still think it's a decent movie. The visual effects where great at the time, and the makeup for the movie was good. The story is crap compare to the comics, but if you watched it as a stand alone movie then it's a good movie. It's a bad Spawn movie, but a fun action movie. The mainly enjoy the movie due to nostalgic reasons.

3/5

The Big Hit (1998):
The movie is about a Hitman and his three teammates Cisco, Crunch and Vince one day decide to kidnap the daughter of super-rich businessman Jiro Nishi - off the record. He now falls in love with the person that he kidnaps, and now turning his world upside down.

I remember when this movie cameout back in 98, and never really saw it until now when FX was playing it eariler today. It's a pretty fun action movie with some good characters, and nice action scenes. I like Mark Wahlberg's character, and the movie is a feel good '90s movie. Once you get used to some of the bad dialog, it's a fun movie.

3.5/5

Detroit Rock City (1999):
The movie deals with a group of teenagers that I have their own band, and trying to get into a KISS concert in Detroit. In order to make it to the show they must steal, cheat, strip, deal with an anti-rock mom and generally do whatever it takes to see the band that has inspired them to be musicians

I have not seen this movie in years until now when it was playing on TV a few days ago. It's a funny movie, and tons of fun to watch. The music soundtrack in this movie is great, you get a lot of hard rock, and classic rock in the movie. The jokes where funny, and the characters where great too. I laughed a lot in the movie, and it was a fun film.

4/5

Godzilla vs. Megaguirus (2000):

I have not seen this movie in the past several years, and I watch it again to see if my views change or not. It's a pretty fun movie if you let reality fly out the window. The action scenes are decent, and the idea of Godzilla not being killed in 1954 was a cool idea. Not a good movie, but not a bad movie neither. Still much better then Final Wars if you ask me.

2.5/5

Sorority Row (2009):
A remake based on the 1983 film "The House on Sorority Row", the movie deals with a group of sorority sisters try to cover up the death of their house-sister after a prank gone wrong, only to be stalked by a serial killer. And all involved swear never to speak of it again.

Jesus christ this movie was terrible. The characters are forgettable, the story was crap, and the acting was god awful. Nothing in this movie was scary at all, and the ending is a total anti-climax. I have never laughed harder at a film since "The Hills have Eyes 2" (2007). The movie is just another teenage slasher film, and I wish I've rented "Clash of the Titans" (2010) instend.

1/5

Day After Tomorrow - honestly still the best natural disaster film IMHO. Dennis Quad is growing on my as an actor, and so is Jake. But Selma Ward was worthless in this film. Based on a book by the same name, I really enjoyed how we all ran across the Rio Grande into Mexico, and basically annexed it by forgiving the Mexican debt to the US lol. Cant say much about the CGI other then HORRIBLE - the wolves were 300 sized man-beasts. The movie does at times make you feel cold. 3/5

Gamera Guardian of the Universe - 14 years later, the film comes off now as campy. Gamera - A+, Gyaos - C-. Horrible puppet work, great plot though. Asagi is so cute. The ADV dubbing is almost as priceless as "Crap through a goose!" Gamera/Atlantis/Gyaos/Bioengineered beings is still the most original plot device in the Heisei era IMHO. 5/5

Live Free or Die Hard - do I seriously need to write a review of those, or some comments? If Maggie Q or Timothy Olyphant arent in the scene, its not worth watching. F-35 JSF vs. big rig on a highway?! LOL I can bullsh*t. Shouldve stopped at Die Hard 3. 1/5

Despicable Me: A criminal mastermind has to adopt three children to help bring his evil plan to fruition. While it has its moments of cuteness and clever humor, too much of the film is bogged down in immature humor and derivative plot points. The villain also lacks any true sense of menace. 2.5/5 or -B

The Crazies 2010. I didn't actually pay attention to this in the beginning but I caught enough of it to know what was going on. Pretty cool flick nice horror film.

American Pie. I hadn't seen it in awhile and so I rented it off of Netflix. Still hold up well for an Animal House esque film.

Clash of the Titans 2010. Was a pretty meh film but looks amazing in HD. The Kraken scene was a little lack luster.

Tonight watching American Pie 2 and American Wedding.

Rambo: First Blood Part II - dated, DATE-ED. Honestly, you can skip Rambo II and III and be happy. 2/5

Armageddon - 5/5 - has now ended up now on my Top Ten films list.

American Pie 2- A decent sequel that's pretty on par with the first one but just couldn't surpass it. Had some funny stuff in it. 7.5 out of 10.

American Wedding- The worst in the trilogy (I count the D2DVD titles as spinoffs) not really that good at all and doesn't hold up well. Still had it's moments but not enough to make it memoriable. 6.0 out of 10

This Film is Not Yet Rated. It's a documentary about the movie rating industry. It's actually pretty entertaining and such and I highly recommend checking it out. 9 out of 10

Hexed- A terrible early 90s comedy about a hotel desk clerk who's tired of being a nobody so he makes up this story that he dated this famous supermodel and finds out she's going to be staying at the hotel. Needless to say shennigans incure and yeah. It's really boring and stupid. 4.5 out of 10.

Frankenstein Conquers the World (1965):

45 years later, and it's still a decent movie. Seeing Toho doing their own Frankenstein was cool at the time, and the origin behind the monster was nicely done. This was the first time I seen the movie in years, and I still think the movie is still entertaining to watch. Nick Adams is great as always, and the battle with Baragon is always fun to watch. The special effects are not that great even for a 60's movie (Mothra vs. Godzilla had visuals if you ask me), and Baragon should have more screen time.

3/5

The Other Guys (2010):
Two cops played by Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson where going after a Hoitz's chance before getting killed. Now the movie deals with a detective named Allen Gamble played by Will Ferrell is a forensic accountant who is into paperwork and refuses to do fieldwork. And another detective named Terry Hoitz played by Mark Wahlberg, who has been stuck working with Gamble since shooting Derek Jeter. So both detectives team up to find a case to take on a high-profile investigation.

I saw this on Friday, and it was much better then I thought it was going to be. The jokes in this movie where funny, and it was a great cop comdey movie. It was everything that Cop Out should have been (Which sucked major balls), and the movie was entertaining to watch from start to finish. I thought this was going to be another stupid Will Ferrell movie, but looks like I was wrong. Check it out if you have the time, or see it when it comes out on DVD.

3.5/5

Kick Ass (2010):
Dave Lizewski is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan who one day decides to become a super-hero named Kick Ass, and becomes popular over the internet. Meanwhile he gets himself in trouble with a gang run by Frank D'Amico. So he later meets up with two superheros named Big Daddy played by Nicolas Cage, and Hit Girl who has plans to kill Frank D'Amico.

I got this movie on DVD last night, and it's still a awesome movie. I did not enjoy as much I did the first time, but it's still a great movie. The action is still great to watch, and every kill sceen with Hit Girl is epic. I also enjoy the characters and Big Daddy is one of my favorite characters in the movie. One of the best Nicolas Cage movie roles in a long time (After being in shit like The Wicker Man, Ghost Rider, Bangkok Dangerous, and G-Force in the past few years). Overall it's still a great movie.

Grizzly (1976) -- A monstrous grizzly bear is responsible for numerous brutal killings in and around a state park. A ranger and a naturalist try to track down the giant, but soon discover that the evil animal is just as capable of evading them as much as making its presence felt in the community. It will take wit, strength, and perseverance to destroy the devil bear. It's not a matter of "if" it will attack....but when.

The movie has it's flaws, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. The special effects were simplistic, but were carried out very well. Grizzly was the top-grossing independent film of 1976, and rightly so; I must say that this animal rivals Jaws. 9/10

Aquanoids- A crappy movie that's sort of like Humanoids from the Deep and not in a good way. 5 out of 10

Creatures from the Abyss- A cheesy Itallian horror movie that's so bad it's good. The film also goes by the name Plankton. Things I've learned about this movie: fish that eat radioactive plankton gain the ability to assimilate DNA ala The Thing, it also increases their lebedo<sp> and if their aren't females around the fish turn gay. Oh and people who eat the toxic plankton will turn into fish monsters while having sex. 8 out of 10 for cheesiness.

The Evil Dead (1983) -- Ash Williams, and a group of teenagers in a remote cabin play an audio recording from a man who released evil spirits with the Book of the Dead. Nothing seems chaotic until the recording plays the man vocally stating incantations from the book. As a result, the teens are possessed by demonic spirits one by one. Ash Williams and the remaining teenagers try to live through sunrise, but can the odds are against them.

Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell produced The Evil Dead, and the result: A movie that looks like it was made by two people who decided to make their own home-fashioned film. The movie has spawned two sequels, several comic book spin-offs, and even a few video games. A large cult following also formed after its release. I enjoyed it, but there are obvious flaws, which add to the cheesiness, but still keep me interested. Acting is overdramatized, but the effects were superb for the time. 7/10

Lottery Tocket-A poor teenager buys a winning lottery ticket and soon becomes the object of attention for this small ghetto town. While not really a bad film, its so incredibly average that I cannot really endorse it. I didn't really have any laughs throughout the whole film, with the only real bit of comedy coming at the film's expense. However, it is incredibly obvious I was not the target audience for this film, so I cannot be that hard on it.
