Wow, a new Godzilla movie is coming to American theaters in a month and a few days. The "Final" in Godzilla: Final Wars means nothing now.

It's not like they intended Final Wars to be the last godzilla film ever, plus the "Final" in the title has nothing to do with the film's chronological standing in the franchise.

Very true. Still, the idea of giving Godzilla a rest was there somewhere, and we consequently got the longest break the franchise had ever experienced.

Clearer shot of Godzilla's clawed hand. In the background you can see what is clearly his tail, so my thoughts are that he is either getting to his feet or falling to his knees.

It looks like his most outermost finger could be his thumb judging from the angle of his wrist. Could he be leaning down to look for something?

I doubt that Godzilla would waste his time on looking for one single person (Ford in this case). Like I stated in a previous post, Godzilla is either falling down from something, or getting up from something. Hell, maybe something hurt him so bad that he could do nothing other than to fall to his knees for a moment.

Agreed, I remember it being a bomb (don't ask) but since Ford is so close it's probably a MUTO. Look at the leaked call sheet that states that
