But in regards to the nuke... was that in the 50s or modern day? They said that the tests in the Pacific weren't really tests, they were trying to kill Godzilla. So if that's true, has Godzilla been around longer than 1954?
He say's they awakened something in 1954....

The tests were just trying to kill it.
I adore that point of view! :huge:
I absolutely love the idea of Godzilla being a giant monster all along - it's all the more terrifying!

Man, I can't keep still in my seat. Skyscrapers collapsing... Bryan Cranston's rage speech... flying monster diving into the ocean Rodan-style... aforementioned nuke plot point... those HUGE shots of Godzilla...
I. AM. HYYYYYYYYPPPED!!!!

What point was that at in the trailer? I think my hype caused me to glance over that.

My guess it was the Flying Muto, utterly destroying the jet's in a dog fight before retreating into the water, most likely to take out the navel forces.

The Flying MUTO looks like a Gradius with Arms.

I think seeing the leg/foot of the Muto was also quite interesting; I can tell this is gonna be a really odd looking/awesome looking opponent :huge:

You could feel the power of Godzilla's roar when the door closes by how it vibrates through his whole head.

The flying MUTO kind of reminded me of a cicada or the Pokemon Ninjask.

AMAZING!!! I cannot wait! everything we see just gets better and better!!!! The flying thing was so brief, it makes me wonder what it looks like. And the claw reminded me of kamacuras

Yes the fact that they were trying to kill it in 1954, the big skeleton, looks like Snowden was legit.
The clincher for me was the army in the (Hawaiian) jungle, finding the goo covered nuclear whatever that the Muto was feasting on....

I'm reading reactions on other non Godzilla websites. Everyone is saying the trailer is great but the CGI doesn't look good. I somewhat concur. But we still have plenty of time until May 16

Yes the shot posted above is extremely weird. Both by how his body is coming out of the flat water and how the water physics are behaving. the texture ain't helping. As a fan of Prometheus, i can tell that those trailers show unpolished footage very often.
And coming out with something like this with a 200 million budget is kinda awkward.
