Kaiju: Mobile Operation Godzilla Universal Expert Robot Aero-Type, I've always loved the design and mysteriousness that was protrayed by the Showa Mogera, and this newer remake was just awesome, especially it's three main pilots.

Movie: Godzilla vs. Spacegodzilla. Hell its my all-time favorite Goji flick. I love the kaiju, absolutely love the characters (Sato, Koji, and Yuki all rocked and had great chemistry throughout the film imo.) the biggest part would be the nostalgia though, I've seen the film over 30 times now and it was my favorite Goji film since I was around 9 years old.

Godzilla wise:
Favorite Movie: Gvs.Biollante/G vs. Destroyer tie
Favorite Monster: Destroyer. Biollante is the greater achievement but Dessy looks cooler.

Gamera Wise:
Movie: G3
Kaiju: Legion (that is including the flower and the symbiotic Legions)

Destoroyah looks cooler than final form Biollante? Ehh...I wouldn't go that far.

I would. He looks like a demon, has lots of pointed edges, and had me at hello. Lord knows how many pics of Dessy I drew in my youth. Though maybe it is a question of not truly appreciating Biollante... which to appreciate her any more is to own a physical embodiment of it... and not the Bandai toy... something more accurate. Alot more accurate.

Clearly you can guess which kaiju and film are my favorites. Biollante had the best character development of the series, and some of the funnest characters. And Biollante. Who is awesome.

Biollante is elegant, and beautiful, while also being terrifying, not unlike Giger's Alien. I'd go as far to say she's one of the greatest monsters (in film) from the 80's..it's just that nobody knows who/what she is because she's in a obscure Godzilla film that was quietly released in the States, and STILL doesn't exist on a format that's over a decade old. Fans praise Biollante (but not always the film) for a reason. She's magnificent, and frankly the best new adversary Godzilla has had in the past 2 decades.

Destoroyah, on the other hand, is a poorly conceived monster, that just looks plain ridiculous on screen. Yeah, he's a "cool" villain, but his design isn't really anything special, save for maybe the head design. Whoever the suit designer was, really dropped the ball with the finalized design, and could have easily based it more around the look on the theatrical poster...instead we got this obese demon creature that looks like it would be out of breath just by standing in place for a few minutes.

From what I've gathered, you're basically saying that to truly appreciate Biollante, there needs to be a better, more accurate model of her? That has to be the most retarded thing I've heard in quite some time (and also makes ZERO sense considering there have been several model kits from Japan of Biollante that put the Bandai one to shame).

So the verdict is, you can't appreciate things on film, unless they're eventually made into a toy. It all makes sense now!

I want you to try something the next time you post Evan. THINK. Just stop... and actually think about what you're saying. I just can't stress it enough man, you're making a fool of yourself on a regular basis these days..

I thought he does stuff like that on purpose, meself.

Frankly, both kaiju are brilliant to me. Biollante for being one of the most original kaiju from the Heisei series, and Destoroyah for being.....well, Destoroyah. He looks, evil, he ACTS evil, heck one of his first acts as a fully grown kaiju is kill Junior, few kaiju have ever gone out to kill the youngster. Biollante is neat in her own right, for being not only a defender of Japan, but as a wild, untamed beast. She is, in a strange way, terrifyingly beautiful as well as deadly. I love both, but I may be preferential to Destoroyah due to nostolgia.

Be prepared to be told that it's just an opinion and he can say whatever he wants to.

Anyway: Biollante vs Destroyah. One represents everything creative about the Heisei series and the other represents everything wrong with it. I'll let everyone else guess which is which.

Plain and simple. Biollante was cool, but I felt they perfected the Godzilla design and feel during this series.

Agreed. At least until 1992, it was one the better depictions of Godzilla. One of my Top 5 no doubt.

And where's the love for Shockirus? While I agree the effects created to portray him are subpar, I always saw the little critter as something special. It's a barely discussed device too, never appearing on trailers or publicity material either. I remember back in my childhood years how much of a jump scare it was to put a giant monster film in my VCR and suddenly witnessing a mutant louse that left a trail of dried up corpses behind. Quite a surprise.

As for the film, I used to see Godzilla vs. Biollante as the best of this era; however my respect for Omori has been fading over the years, with The Return of Godzilla replacing his film (which is still superior to anything from 1991 to 1999) as the true gem of the Heisei series.
Every film should have at least one animal attack.

Wrong Mike, since Goji's interpretation isn't 100% correct.

Nope, I just think that the only way for me to possibly appreciate her more is to own a figure of her that isn't the poor Trendmasters figure or the meh Bandai figure.

But...that's ridiculous, especially coming from me of all people who probably has one of the biggest collections of most anyone else on this site. There are lots of different ways to appreciate Biollante: photos in Japanese books, making-of videos or hell, just watch the film itself. If you're actually saying that you seriously NEED to hold a 3D representation of a monster in your hands in order to appreciate it...I don't know what to tell you.

My interpretation isn't 100% correct huh? How can an interpretation be correct or incorrect when it's just that....an interpretation. You're still not using your brain kid.

There are PLENTY of high resolution photographs, toys/model kits, making of featurette's, and a DVD and Blue-ray release to be able to appreciate Biollante's design. With all the time you waste finding random shit to post about on your "blog", I'd figure you would have spent plenty of time doing this already. Instead you make excuses. What the F dude?

Arrogant. Hmm. I was gonna use that word to describe you, but whatev.

Doesn't change the fact that Biollante was the superior monster. More original design, better execution, and, despite being the biggest kaiju in the Godzilla series, STILL had more mobility than Destroyah. These are also facts and cannot be disputed.

Now, whether or not that means she is "cooler" than Destroyah is what is opinion. But you've got lousy taste, ya think that stiff POS Xenomorph with wings is cooler for being inferior.

Mike;
To appreciate it more. I have seen dones of pics and Biollante is visualy a cool looking beast. Just not as cool looking as Dessy IMO.

Goji:
Not wasted time.

And I have seen pictures. Like I said, I need a figure or something if I am to maybe appreciate her more than I do right now. Her origins are deeper and more complex than Destroyah's, but for a purely visual stand point, I like Destroyah. I do not see how that is a crime. I mean hell, HellSpawn also liked Destroyah over Biollante. I don't see him being slamed for it. Is my taste in kaiju really that important that we must fight about it?

Is that what we are really gonna complain about? Just because one person likes Destroyah more than Biollante. Really. If my choice and the reasons for it really that moronic, then let it be and let's just move on instead of dragging this out. Just let me have my opinion without critisism. It doesn't matter if I like Destroyah over Biollante and you guys making a big deal of it is just as idiotic as my reasoning.

You do realize that the "problem" is simply your nonsensical reasoning, right? Obviously, its fine if you like one over the other, but don't pull statements out of your ass like "I can't praise the design because I don't have a nice figure of her, whaaaaa", and expect not to be ridiculed. How does that make ANY F'n sense? Do you have a fancy Destoroyah model kit from Japan that's made you "appreciate" it more? For some reason, I seriously doubt that you do.

If you want to whine anymore about this some more Evan, take it to PM's. I'm done.
