GXMG miniatures used in KILL BILL, not GMK's

Postby g2kmaster » Sat Nov 06, 2010 1:45 pm

...or atleast that is what I am getting when I was going through AINT IT COOL NEWS for production information reguarding KILL BILL which wasn't reprinted in Carradine's "THE KILL BILL DIARIES" (great read for all, btw).

http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=14498

Anyone want to comment on this or such? Maybe someone has proof that it is the GMK models?

I always thought it was either GMK or Against Mechagodzilla.

I'm pretty sure it was already known that it was the miniatures from GODZILLA X MECHAGODZILLA that were used in KILL BILL v.1.

Keith Aiken said in the audio commentary for Terror of Mechagodzilla that miniatures from Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla were indeed used for Kill Bill

Ah, in that case TK needs some tweaking. And for the record, I do not have the TOM CM DVD with Keith's audio commentary.

That's pretty cool. Maybe someday we could see Godzilla meats Kill Bill, or something.

That was actually a direct quote from Quentin Tarantino on the making of KILL BILL p.2. The battle between Beatrice and Elle was apparently inspired by the battle between Sanda and Gaira.

May I also add that I read somewhere that before filming the sequence Quentin showed Ms. Thurman and Hannah WOTG (QT owns a print).

I've heard this too, but I've never seen it actually sourced from anything, which is why I've always been skeptical.

Well, while I cannot say that he showed the blondes the film, I know he most probrably owns a print. Quentin used to run a film festival in Texas - and he also showed a print of Frankenstein Conquers the World and Gamera vs. Barugon.

Tarantino said he only wants to direct movies based on his own original ideas. So the him directing a Godzilla movie is very unlikely.

That's what he said after "Inglourious Basterds" (2009) came out over a year ago.

Well now, what about him writing? With a collaborator who people think is more grounded with kaiju in general, he could write a good screenplay.
