The last time I check SM did not become a part of The Avengers until the 2000's? I won't mind seeing Spidey in a Avengers movie where we can see him try to hold off The Hulk like he did before in the comics.

No. Spider-man was NEVER meant to be an Avenger. Superman was a FOUNDER of the League. Leaving Iron Man or Cap or Thor out of The Avengers would be like leaves Supes off the JL, but not Spider-man.

Spider-man should have ALWAYS stayed a street level hero for the most part, like Daredevil. That is where his appeal was. He is just NOT important to the Avengers.

The roster I want for Avengers is Iron Man, Cap, Thor, Giant Man, Wasp, Hawkeye, and Hulk if he's not the villain. A follow-up would be awesome to include Luke Cage and Wolverine, but I don't see the latter happening.

Fine, I'll grant you that, but ONLY with a small role and NOT as an official Avenger.

And, yeah, it was right after House of M and right before Civil War that Spidey became an Avenger. He became an Avenger at the first formation of the New Avengers.

You know I thought of something.

So Disney is distributing The avengers, ironman 3, and probably the Thor/Capt Sequals. So this got me thinking what will happen to Hulk. Is he still being used by universeal or does the mouse own him to now?

The Hulk is getting his own live action TV series in 2012 which might be tie into the The Avengers movie universe.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the original intent of the Avengers simply "Hey, let's throw all our top characters together in one team"? Wouldn't it be a little weird to leave Spider-Man out of a top Marvel character team?

No, it wouldn't. Fact is, most of the Avengers (Hawkeye, Wasp, Giantman/Yellowjacket/Antman/Asshole Extraordinaire) aren't huge Marvel draws. Ironman, Thor, and Cap are the Big Three of Marvel.

Avengers is where you go to be ELEVATED to a top draw.

The Avengers: the avenging avengers.

Well from what comic book movies says, Hulk and Loki will infact be the villians of the movie but Loki being the main one.
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/ ... s/?a=26265

I don't like the idea of Hulk being the villian for the movie, UNLESS they do it like in the first issue where Loki tricks Hulk and makes the heroes think he causing some destruction and they fight him until they learn of this misunderstanding. Also... you know, let there be a BIG GLOBAL THREAT AS IN JUSTICE LEAGUE SECRET ORIGINS level threat.

So was I and many others, but I think why we won't have him until a sequal is because they're still working out the antman movie. After that they could be like "Oh hey! We should go check out this Pym fellow for these random robot attacks!" Thus he tells everyone his work on Ultron and thus issue a big fight.

Hell, maybe they could Introduce wonderman and have him sacerfice himself to defeat Ultron thus setting up a 3rd film with the vision.

I was hoping Ultron for the first movie, and maybe Thanos for the sequels unless Fox has the rights to use Thanos for a SS movie.

The only Avengers I have ever read is the first issue, but that doesn't seem like a very realistic plot for a movie. However, I could see Hulk as a villain, but The avengers join together in order to stop a bigger threat.

Skrull rumor just got debunked http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=72714

Too bad, like this much better then the Avengers vs. Hulk idea.

I remember in the first issue of The Avengers that the issue deal with Loki taking over The Hulk's mind. As long we don't see a major repeat of the Loki battle in Thor then the idea should be okay. I think Iron Man in the movie will end up having a new suit for him to go head to head with The Hulk.

See, I love the Avengers vs Hulk and Loki thing. It's more in line with the early Avengers. I can't wait.

you know spider-man was supposed to be incorperated? there was a scene in an early draft of Iron Man that revealed that Tony made the mechnical Arms for Otto Octavious.

I would LOVE for them to buy the rights to those characters as well. The "Marvel Movieverse" is just so much better than what Sony and Fox have done with the franchises.

Too bad Fox refuses to let go of X-Men, F4, and Daredevil. Its good to know that Marvel was able to get back the rights to Blade, and Punisher though.

I wish F4 could get sent home and be given better treatment. And I'd love to see Spider-man brought into the Marvel fold also, but he's gotten a decent treatment under Raimi and his High School Reboot sounds like it'll be at least entertaining.

I can understand why they're keeping X-Men rights, because that encompasses a ton of characters. And that's a lot of toys and more franchise material. It's a shame that they only need to make a film every couple years to keep the rights. Luckily for me, I don't like X-Men at all so it doesn't bother me. And I think X-Men wouldn't really add much to the Marvel Movieverse. However, I would love to see Wolverine fight The Hulk. I think everybody would like that.

Quoted for the absolute complete and utter truth. Probably my biggest gripe with Marvel/Spider-Man in general is when he's thrown into grander scale stories then his character can allow for. Spider-man is strongest as a spunky kid cleanin' up New York and just sticks out like an utter sore-thumb when he's fighting alongside The Avengers in outer space on some planet. Which is why I enjoy Spider-man moreso as a film character then I do a comic book character.
