Trendmasters Godzilla Commercials

Post by kpa »

SciFi Japan has posted 10 different Godzilla toy commercials from Trendmasters. Taken from the master tapes owned by collector Jonathan Shyman, these high-quality spots cover several different toy lines from 1990s… GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS, GODZILLA WARS, GODZILLA: DOOM ISLAND, TriStar GODZILLA and the unreleased GODZILLA: THE SERIES toy figures.

I just saw the Doom Island commercial not to long ago. Way to bring back memories again. Still a shame that Cyber Godzilla never got released.

Anyone else notice they changed Spacegodzilla's roar from the Pterodactyl (Godzilla Wars) to Heisei Ghidorah in the Doom Island commercial? Heisei era, everything must have Rodan's roar! :P

Wish I was capable as a kid of making a huge miniature city... and allowance of a fog machine in my room.

They don't make commercials like those anymore.

I remember a lot of these being on TV, particularly the 1998 film commercials. Somewhere on the forums I posted about seeing the Doom Island commercial online back when I was a kid, in like, 2000/2001. I knew I wasn't making it up in my head. :D

I love how these go from "GODZILLA IS AMBUSHED BY BIOLLANTE AND SPACEGODZILLA! WHO WILL RULE DOOM ISLAND?!" to "GODZILLA, UH... knocks over... a tank. Or something. Maybe a helicopter. I dunno."
"Name me one fight where Anguirus didn't get his dick kicked in."

I like it in the Gino commercials, they always say,"WE NEED BIGGER GUNS!"

That's strange... the regular guns seemed to work just fine in the movie.

I think it's a catch on the line in the movie "We need... bigger guns". Apparently one-liners were still popular with toylines.

It's funny how the toys make Nick a big gun-carrying action hero.

Yeah! I was always curious about why he was so cool in the cartoon too, and sounded like Batman. He's not supposed to be cool, he's supposed to be the worm guy!

Oh thank God, Nick is here to safe us all with his rocket firing motorcycle!
Yeah these commercials bring back some fond memorys.
I didn't even know about the Trendmasters toys until I saw the commercial with the Gforce. Sadly they don't have that one on the list.

The Godzilla 2014 line will have breakable buildings. At least the smaller toys will.
