As opposed to all the real life monsters who have stars?

That's because you made the topic before I made the batman one.Theres a difference and hence we don't need this topic.

Superman will be released Q4 2012 around X-Mass time. So it will be The Avengers, Batman, Spider-Man, Godzilla, and Men in Black fighting at the box office in Summer 2012.

Part of why Spiderman and Batman are so appealing is their villains - the Joker, TwoFace, etc. are readily identifiable. Lex Luther can be an amazing villain, but he's not visually interesting. He's a bald guy.

And thats the problem with the producers of these films. Superman and his rogues gallery have a huge amount of potential to create a viable and compelling action/sci-fi film. While the characters aren't nearly as good as Batman or Spider-Man's collection of villains, they can be made to be interesting and compelling, as the Superman animated series by the Timm/Dini team illustrated. And contrary to popular belief, there's plenty of villains and characters that can give Supes a run for his money and force him to be creative and use his brain in order to combat. If the directors, producers, and screenwriters actually used their imaginations and brains, they'd do something with these characters, instead of going to the well of General Zod or Lex Luthor or some random assortment of Kryptonian characters.KaneLocke wrote:JVM wrote:Superman's problem is since he's the flashy hero, he doesn't get flashy villains. Supes has plenty of flashy villains. Darkseid may not be an off-the-wall villain like Two-Face or Joker, but he's charismatic, evil to the core, AND visually interesting.
There are other villains, too, but my understanding is that they're not going to USE those interesting villains...
