Meltdown wins but volcanoes fail?

Postby Cinematic Kaiju » Sat Oct 16, 2010 6:25 pm

Now dont bash me, or give me responses like "its just a movie" or stuff like that... but seriously... why didnt Godzilla die? HOW could he not? Ok we got..

1. Mt. Mihara - Godzilla being stuck there for 5 yrs in molten lava CHECK
2. Mt. Fuji - Godzilla swam underneathe the earths crust into molten lava only to emerge from Mt. Fuji CHECK

BUT... how could our favorite monster survive 2 Volcano experiences... but not survive a meltdown?? Being in Mt. Mihara or swimming beneathe the earths crust literally kill him instantly??

All i can say is what they said in G vs. Mothra 92: "this is beyond our understanding".

You can survive water of well over 100 degrees. But heart attacks kill you.

Your body can withstand very high temperature environments, you're only ever in danger if your core body temperature can't be regulated (like when you have a flu and get a fever). Godzilla melted down when his core body temperature couldn't be regulated because his body began breaking down from to much radiation exposure.

Godzillas skin and muscles could handle lava and maintain itself in that environment, but when his organs began getting that warm, it killed him.

You can live through somewhat high heat thats on the outside but have your insides be a few higher in temp then it should be and you will die pretty fast.

It's not the heat, it's the fact that his heart was essentially disintegrating.

Why didn't he survive melting down? Um, because he melted? -_-

Unless of course he melted into some sort of sentient puddle. :P

Actually, it falls in about the same heat area as lava.

Lava is about 1300 - 2400 degrees fahrenheit.

1200 degrees celsius is about 2192 degrees fahrenheit.

External temperature vs. internal temperature. Really all it comes down to.

^ This.

It can be 120 outside and you will live but have the temp of your bodies insides go up by a simple 2 or 3 degrees and your screwed if it doesn't go down to normal after too long.

Godzilla's heart was failing. Godzilla is a resilient creature, so a dunk in lava and pressure could be survived. However, when the organ that keeps you alive fails, there's little that can be done.

My theory: the lava couldn't penetrate his hide. The meltdown was an inside chemical inbalance, however, so perhaps this is a reason.

I love how we've found logic in this...but people still continue to say illogical things.

Not you, Chris.
