I bought mine on ebay and it shipped the day I ordered.

I hope you get it soon then, lucky guy! Amazon's site currently states "Usually ships within 2 to 5 weeks"... I wonder if they ran out of stock?! Pleaase let us know when you get your, you may be the first one here to get it!

GVAMP: In theory, mine should have already shipped... both items in my order [the Gamera Blu-Ray and Demeking] relaesed the same day. Demeking is currently listed as 'In Stock' [with only 5 copies left], but Gamera... hmm. Frustrating! Hope I get them both soon!

I assume my copy is going to be received either tomorrow or the day after. Of course i'm hopping tomorrow.

I guess this weekend when I go to town I'll check and see if it's at my B&N if not then I'll order it from Amazon.

Well, the shipping estimate is currently "October 18, 2010 - October 22, 2010", but with today being the 14th I just don't see it happening. I really hope it does, but...

Ah well, patience is a virtue I suppose. It'll come eventually and at least with Amazon's 'Pre-Order Low Price Guarantee' thing, they put the disc down to $9.99 for me [I think it was $13 when I first ordered it]. Not too bad of a deal, getting this Gamera Double-Feature and Demeking for under $25 shipped and all.

I'm more anxious to hear that someone, anyone has actually got the damn thing in their hands... at this point, based on the amazing price and the supposed awesome quality of the transfers, this thing sounds too good to be true!

I got an email from the ebay seller

Hi, thank you for your purchase.

I am terribly, terribly sorry, we may have sent you an email earlier today
with the incorrect content in the email.

The correct message is that your preordered item shipped today, one day after
the release date which was yesterday. The reason for the one day delay is
that we only got the items in today (we normally get them one week before
the street date), due to production delays from the studio.

I am very sorry for this delay in getting the product from the studio, and
for any confusion an incorrect email may have caused.

Please let me know if you encounter any problems, as we guarantee every
item 100%.

Which means I might have to wait a little longer ugh I just want this so bad.

Well, the silver lining in this is that if the seller you bought from on eBay just got their shipment TODAY, maybe Amazon will too! Hope they get it to you soon.

Does ANYONE have this disc yet? It's like the Loch Ness Monster!

Not sure I believe it. I may be overly skeptical, but once someone on this board actually has a copy in their hands, THEN I'll believe it really exists. It just seems odd that ONE guy on blu-ray.com got it the Friday before release, yet nobody else that pre-ordered it, from blu-ray.com, amazon, ebay, Target or ANYWHERE has received theirs. Even sites that seem to get advance copies of stuff like this, such as dvdtalk.com, haven't reviewed it yet. Strange...

Someone over at MZ got the disc in today and said it looks great, the PQ is better than Toho's GMK BD which is pretty dissapointing from what I've heard so yeah looks like the disc is decent. Probably going to order it with in the next few weeks.

Really? From the reviews I read the PQ was great, it was just not a big loud digital picture. Very filmic and apparently a nice transfer. But I also didn't see a lot of screen caps and stuff. If you have any reviews/caps that'd be sweet.

But if this is the truth then I am quite pleased. I hope to see more pictures. I wonder if it is actually a new Hd transfer from the film elements. if that is true, it could potentially be superior to the japanese BDs as they were only 1080i IIRC

Pardon my asking, but what exactly is the difference between those two?

For some reason Millcreek used a 25gb disc. They should have went for a 50gb ,since it was a double feature. But I guess the picture quality isn't so bad for two HD films crammed on a 25gb disc. The picture quality might have fared a little better if they used VC1 compression on that 25gb disc. From my understanding VC1 handles compression a little better than MPEG4.

Well, the transfer seems decent with the contrast and compression being the only two major issues. The fact that they are packed onto one disc for a small asking price offsets that for me. I'm sure that they are better than the R1's and I'm hopeful that since G3 will be on a single disc by itself it will fare better on the video side of things.

Now I'm just interested in seeing some comparison shots between this and the Japanese BDs!

...and I wouldn't mind a review of Legion to see how it turned out compared to GOTU.

I got mine in and Iv'e only seen Guardian and it looks much better in motion. Its defiantly worth the money and much better than the R1 version. The subtitles are kinda far up the screen and the menus don't even have scene selections I guess to keep compression down. The quality ranges from good to decent its never bad but not something amazing looking. I'm gonna watch legion later tonight, I hope its not going to look bad.

EDIT
