Should Godzilla vs Mothra been Mothra vs Battra instead?

No, I don't. I thought the battle was godawful and a perfect showcase of everything wrong with the mid-to-late '90s final battles. There's a scene somewhere in the final battle where people are looking outside a building and all the audience can see is an endless display of beams. Aside from Mothra's reflective scales and Godzilla's nuclear pulse, that's pretty much all the final battle here consisted of. Add in some sparks and two immobile Mothra and Battra props and you get one of my least favorite final battles of this entire franchise. No innovation, no creativity at all. Absolutely pathetic.

Pretty much sais it all. Although I still think the first fight between Godzilla and Battra's Larva form was pretty good, however that again shows how much Battra's larva form was better then his final form. I mean in Larva form he and Godzilla had a pretty even back and forth fight, and we had no idea of who was really winning when the Eruption occured underwater. His final form needed Mothra to help defeat Godzilla and he still died in the end.
