I'll start a conversation...

Spider-Man!! ... **** yea... :D
Don't try to be something else. Don't try to be less. Great things are going to happen in your life. Great things. And with that will come great responsibility.

To be honest, I am annoyed with Spidey right now. From what I heard OMIT may just as bad if not worse then OMD. Even though I liked Shed and much of the Gauntlet, I am disappointed in Qusaeda and the rest of the team for butchering their companies most marketible character.

On a happier note, I heard that Devil Dinosaur made an appearance in the latest issue of the Avengers! However, I have yet to read the issue and figure out how it fits into his overarching chronology.

Speaking of Spiderman, I read "Spiderman: Reign" not all that long ago. Anybody have thoughts on it? For what it was, being a non-canon story, I really enjoyed it.

Yeah, Iron Man and Hulk are my two favorite Marvel creations.

I'm currently reading the complete collection of Iron Man and the X-Men.

Looks like Spidey will be getting a new creative team.

And Carnage is back. As a woman.

That's from the more recent series, right? The whole virus thing? Cause if that is what I'm thinking about, I haven't gotten that far. I'm starting with the silver age comics. :P I'm so busy at the moment that I haven't gotten out of TOS, haha.

I will say I'm disappointed by how short the Mandarin's first appearance comic was.

So... question...

I've been meaning to get into Marvel comics for awhile (I have nostalgic memories of watching the old X-Men and Spider-Man cartoons), and SS4G suggested I try the Ultimate Marvel series - as it's less history to catch up on. I wanna do either Ultimate X-Men or Ultimate Spider-Man. What do you guys think of these? Are they good? Is there something better? Are they so terrible I shouldn't waste the money? Help me out here, please.

Ultimate is good, but I prefer the main continuity because its what I grew up with.

There are numerous good starting points for multiple series, it really depends on the character your interested in reading.

Really huh? Looks like Marvel was not able to keep Carnage in the past nine years. It seem like Carnage was the only Marvel villain next to Abraxas to be dead for the longest until now.

I think Green Goblin was dead from the 70's-90's.

I just thought of something... Bendis is like Joe quasada.

Both said that their favorite characters were spider-man(Quasada), the sentry(Bendis) and both raped the characters to the point no one really likes the mainstream versions. :)

The thing is, I still kind of like Spidey. He's a farcry from what he used to be, but I still enjoy alot've his stories. I'm actually really excited to see how BND wraps up and how Slott takes over.

Well BND was a reason why alot of the fanbase left, including myself.

Now onto Red Hulk and warning these are spoilers:

I didn't really think it was Ross as Rulk because Ross has the stashe and him transforming and losing it and gaining it when he transforms back is stupid.
