Re: Favourite Mechas/Cyborgs
Anyway sad to see that Mogeura isn't getting any love.
Is it his Showa design or Heisei?
Both?[/quote]
Both I suppose, Mogeura is pretty lame compared to the rest IMO though.

Perhaps. But you have to give it credit. Moguera at least held its own against Spacegodzilla for a while. And, even with the whole disassembling ability, it was possibly the least ridiculous mech kaiju.heiseisaegusa wrote:Both I suppose, Mogeura is pretty lame compared to the rest IMO though.Anyway sad to see that Mogeura isn't getting any love.

Favorite is Showa Mechagodzilla.Mostly because I grew up with his movie.
Most powerful is as others have said SMG with Moguera right behind.

The Hesie Moguera wasn't bad design wise, and it did prove an effective fighter.

Re: Favourite Mechas/Cyborgs
I think the list is sticking to the robots/mecha that challenged the Big-G in the live action side of things. Although I'd also throw in from the GODZILLA:THE SERIES the mech team of the Lizard Slayers.
Not to mention Cyber-Godzilla.
And the fan favorite from the Marvel mag, RED RONIN.

If we're talking mechs from GTS, then the lizard slayers and Robo yeti have to be mentioned. Robo Yeti was a nice take on Mechanikong, and a far better weapon.

The Lizard Slayers were always a favorite from GTS. They matched in my head at least what domestic, American mechas would most likely look like. A rather, utilitarian, tank-like look.

Re: Favourite Mechas/Cyborgs
I like Showa Mechagodzilla. He's retro, sinister, and made of space titanium. His metal-and-bolt construction reminds me of the B-movie stars of the 50's and 60's too. The other MG's are cool, but not like the original.
MOGUERA (Heisei) is my close second favorite.

My favorite is SMG, the strongest however is MOGUERA who seems to be getting the shit end of the stick here. Just because you're more durable doesn't make you the strongest.

I'm surprised Mechagodzilla Showa is so high. Is it Terror of Mechagodzilla why everybody likes him?

Re: Favourite Mechas/Cyborgs
In no specific order, here are my favorites...
Showa Mecha Godzilla: I've always liked this robot. The idea behind his character is simplistic. Godzilla fighting a mechanized version of himself? Hell yeah! Godzilla is a juggernaut; this MechaGodzilla is a juggernaut slayer.
Kiryu: This is currently my favorite Godzilla. I love how he's the first Godzilla in disguise. Kiryu's design is nice and sleek (especially his Tokyo S.O.S. look), perfectly suited for combat. Kiryu
Jet Jaguar: What's there not to love about a retro-robot with a permanent grin? He has so much potential. An artificially aware robot capable of altering his size? I'd love to see him return someday.
I like the concept of Mecha-King Ghidorah. But the portrayal could've been better. Read Marc Cersasini's Godzilla vs. The Robot Monsters to see the cyborg's potential.
FW Gigan's design kicked ass and he certainly embodied traits of his Showa counterpart. But that's all I like about him.
I'm mixed on Super MechaGodzilla. He was portrayed nicely, kicked ass, and I like his design.
MOGUERA, the robo-penguin, has a bland design.

Erm, I somehow doubt Moguera is stronger than SMG.PopInPicsPresents wrote:My favorite is SMG, the strongest however is MOGUERA who seems to be getting the shit end of the stick here. Just because you're more durable doesn't make you the strongest.
Either way, he's pretty lame for a mech. Gets some bonus points for not being a Mechagodzilla, I guess.

Re: Favourite Mechas/Cyborgs
What's SMG have other than the Plasma Grenade? The Mega Buster who could barely match and at times even lost against the weak ray of Heisei Godzilla? The completely harmless eye beams? Pound for pound, MOGUER's weapons pack more of a punch.
All SMG has going for him is the Plasma Grenade, unless he goes all "DOES NOT COMPUTE" and overheats if he absorbs too much. Not to mention he's incredibly frail.

Re: Favourite Mechas/Cyborgs
MOGUERA's chest cannon knocked out Godzilla with an indirect hit. Mechagodzilla couldn't do that with 3+ direct hits with the Plasma Grenade. The Spiral Grenade missiles probably pack more of a punch or close to that of that PG.Primevalgodzilla V2 wrote:Erm, I somehow doubt Moguera is stronger than SMG.PopInPicsPresents wrote:My favorite is SMG, the strongest however is MOGUERA who seems to be getting the shit end of the stick here.
