Bingo 8-). * Gives Mr.X a cookie*

Heres a few hours worth of painting. I tried my best to darken that gray as it was too bright at first.

Just the legs and arms left to do ^^.

The eyes will probably be the hardest part, followed by the fins, but I wonder what it would look like with Godzilla 1994 eyes swapped out in a picture? Like a proof of concept test?

I do find it rather amusing that Japanese Paints are being used to paint a Japanese Toy.

To be honest, I am not going to touch the eyes this time after what happended with the last attempt at eyes ( shudders ). Anyway, they look good as they are anyway :3.
The Fins will be done however. May even get the entire thing done tomorrow.
It is indeed rather amusing now that you mention it :P. The Tamiya Acrylic paints were recomended to me by my local hobby shop. And it works WONDERS on figures like this, as you can see.

A little suggestion here if I may, try an ivory paint for his fins

Forgot to mention the ivory is for the new custom your working on.

I just had a little look online for this paint and only found huge cans of it. So I dont think the Ivory paint can be done within the spare time frame I have :(. Thank you kindly though, suggestions are always appreciated.

So, what do you folks think so far?

But thoe spines, those were a challenge T_T.

Gona give those another coating tomorrow as you can see why. I had to drown the translucent plastic in paint it looks a bit sloppy :(. But hey, I am an amaeture at this so theres much to learn.

For an amateur great job...
now comes the nitpicking part.

The spines were..well..you know.
But hey still a great job, hm now I want to do this. I used to customize my old toys when I was younger, and they always came out great...

In retrospect I think I came off like sid from toy story *shudders*.

Incredible! I really like the "behind the tail" pose, above his swimming pose. I guess they didn't improve the head to straighten out more for swimming? That's disappointing.

Anyway, about GIGAN05's custom. For the dorsal fins, you never want to "drown" parts into paint unless you are doing a "wash" to make a weathered or aged look. There are different kind of brushes out there for what you wanted to do. A small foam-tipped paint brush would have worked better for those. And then some touch-ups around the edges for a sharper look. Overall though, as much as I would've liked white spines, I now see that's not as good of a look that I'd like. The teeth, claws, toes, and dorsal fins should all match. The reason being, is that in all the films, he's never had white spines, they're been bone-white, gray, yellowed spines, silver, purple, blue when lit, and orange-red but never white. It's weird but I remember them as white in a few films, but realized they were not.

The charcoal gray body color is far too light, I would've mentioned it earlier, but when you were showing the head, I thought that was the new paint and it was much darker. The Godzilla has black that would be more fitting, just not so glossy. I thought you were just showing us the improved lip paint, since the factory had them painted so sloppy. I'm not sure a wash could darken his body enough, without a repaint. However, being so gray, it's like a flashback Heisei Godzilla in 1954!

The red eyes are cool, but distracting. Can you easily swap out the Godzilla 1994 eyes and see how they would look? Hopefully a SHMA BioGoji will bring back those dark, brown eyes I love so much.

Also, have you considered "breaking" the tail tip in 2 or 3 different places and inserting a thick guage wire to get more positions out of the end of the tail?

GIGAN05, I've been meaning to ask, what exactly were you aiming for with this one...? Is this your depiction of how fully-grown Godzilla Junior looked at the end of GvD? A very interesting concept if it is, I especially like how he retains the Burning Godzilla eyes.

I like the Godzilla Jr, but the spines could use a bit more work in the way of those black blotches of skin Godzilla has in the middle of each spine.

So i'm starting on a little side project now. Trying my hand at making specific customs and this happens to be my first one, surprisingly its going decently, minus it being 49F so drying might take longer then expected. The only thing im worried about is snapping the joints back in then the whole thing falls apart while paint flies every were. Check back within a few hours around 1-2 and I should have the first layer of colored paint on atleast the arms.
On a side note, I didn't realize how much detail was put in Gigan, dang.

Thank you. Because it is really cold out now the primer is still setting so I might have to move it inside my room were its hotter...and crack the window open. Lets hope this comes out the way it looks.

Edit: Alright primer is done, I will move on to adding the green later and I need to pick up some spray and liquid metallic silver, and..hmm Red or Metallic Red idk. I wish I did not have to go to work tomorrow, I really want to start adding colors.
