You know what, this makes me want to start on a custom figure. Turning the 6 inch Heisei Godzilla into the 91 Godzilla. Easy part being the eyes, hard part being the spines. After WoM is done of course.
Well, that's certainly a thing.

I think Tamashii may end up releasing a Godzilla '89 to go with Biollante, well, if that ever sees the light of day that is..

It's always good to have a back up plan (especially if it doesn't cost you $80). Either way, I will (eventually) get a 89/91 Godzilla figure in the 6" range.
Well, that's certainly a thing.

Sounds like a fun project Cmdmstudios. If you go ahead with it I wish you the best of luck.

Now, where was I? ...

I think its ready folks :). Granted, its quite far off from "Shin Godzilla" but theres enough to make it stand out.
So after a bit of retouch work today, my first ever custom is complete ^^.

I'm excited to see it! Hey GIGAN05, can you put a link to your deviantart on your profile or signature maybe? That way we can keep up too?

The wait is over.

Gentlemen, I present to you my first ever custom. This is my own Godzilla design if you will.

GODZILLA - Q!

And just to prove that I was not lazy with the colors :P ...

I gave him "Great White Shark" eyes because of his connection with the sea. This tounge was also colored over to reflect this.
Image
Believe it or not, theres a bit of color in his ridges that can only be seen with the right lighting.

Image
Last but not least, the centre row of his tail spines & claws were painted in black. Just thought it would make Q stand out a bit more.

The figure turned out really good. I like the choice of paint for the skin with the slight colors and the glossy look. And the spines look amazing.

It came from the Japanese word "Nijuu Kyuu" ( Which I believe is Japanese for 29? ). Q just had a nice ring to it when put with Godzilla.

Meanwhile in custom land ...

I suspect it's a regularly-painted Godzilla using BG's mold. Am I right? Do I get a cookie?!?!

That would be freakin' awesome! The eyes will probably be the hardest part, followed by the fins, but I wonder what it would look like with Godzilla 1994 eyes swapped out in a picture? Like a proof of concept test?

I do find it rather amusing that Japanese Paints are being used to paint a Japanese Toy. :P

@GIGAN05 great job with your custom, splendid indeed.

A little suggestion here if I may, try an ivory paint for his fins :)

Forgot to mention the ivory is for the new custom your working on.
