I might buy it since I have not seen GOU in the past 11 years, and I have yet to see any of the sequels sadly.

Its a shame, BluRay is supposed to be the next step in quality and we wont get quality.
Sorta defeats the purpose.

Not really if people buy it. The biggest reason blu-ray is around is not because people want to give us better pic quality and such. It is because when we have to change media, we spend alot of money on re-buying titles and buying new televisions and media players and maybe even speakers. It is all for the $$$ with the "better picture, audio, and special features" being the sales pitch which gets you to switch. And how much do you want to bet that atleast half of the people who are selling these products to us are part of Deca? lolz...

Anyway, yeah, this is inevitable because it's me but what about Gamera 3? If they are going for the cheap route for better proffit margins, they might as well have added the third film to make the package more attractive. If they can squeeze 10 films on one DVD, I am sure they can squeeze three films onto one blu-ray.

And for the record, I shot an e-mail to Mill Creek 3 days ago... no reply yet... I am still calling boot. And really, looking at their "Red Barron" and "Iron King" Dvds, they look like they could have just scanned the BCI/Eclipse release's covers and DVD designs and just re-released them for $$$. I call bootleg all around.

I just bought their Ultraman set and I have to disagree with you. Their releases are not boots. While I'm sure there's a slight quality drop due to compression of 39 episodes onto 4 discs (unlike BCI's 6 discs), they've redesigned the menus and presented a nice, affordable package. (I have the first volume of the BCI version, so I can do a direct comparison). The only gripe I've come across is the way the discs are stored - it makes Sony's Icons set look intelligent. Basically, instead of the usual snap-in-place holder that DVDs come in, you've got 4 PAPER slip cases that fit into a little box inside the main housing. It's potentially easy to lose.

I should mention that the main reason I caved and bought the set is because it's selling on Amazon for a whopping $9. Worth it.

EDIT: I realize this post may seem wildly off topic and merely a review for the set, but it's simply to stop these "Mill Creek = bootleg" rumors.

If you want to get technical then yeah the Ultraman DVDs are boots because they wheren't licensed by Tsuburaya who created the show.

Yes these BDs are legit however any one expecting a quality copy that's a straight port of Japanese BDs is going to sadly be mistaken based on the price and the fact that two movies on one disc.

Isn't Tsuburaya restricted from licensing their classic shows outside of Japan? I seem to recall BCI bought the rights from Chaiyo, who held them before that lawsuit was settled.

No they wheren't restricted. I don't know the exact details of the court cases or anything but I'll leave that for a different topic.

I consider those releases boots because they wheren't officially licensed by Tsuburaya.

It looks so... cheap. I recognize some of the text from other DVDs. They even got some of the pics wrong. :|

The cover has a showa feel to it, and I was hoping that they would use the Japanese posters for the cover.

Indeed they did. Amusing.

I'm quite intrigued by this release and hope that it turns out nice.

I notice they used a screen shot of "Gamera: The Brave" on the back of the cover. Nice job on confusing people .

I love seeing these sorts of ads. "Hey, G98 and KK05 sold really well, so this will too!"

Cover art as found on ebay. It looks official.

This has been floating around for a while. I don't think anyone doubted how official it was. I question the quality of this thing.
