My favorite (though not the "best") is from King Kong vs. Godzill. When Kong begins to wake up on the raft, they have to shoot the dynamite to blow it up. I don't know why, but it sticks out a lot in my memory.

The industrial fight scene in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla is also spectacular. Explosions...explosions everywhere.

Terror of Mechagodzilla had the best pyrotechnics for me, sereously these would have made Michael Bay proud. Godzilla vs Destroyah is a close second.

Add the ridiculous highway explosion from Prophecies of Nostradmus, King Ghidorah's raid on Tokyo in Ghidrah, and the destruction of Tokyo in Terror of Mechagodzilla to my favorites.

I'm surprised it took this long for someone to mention the destroyer of films.

I really liked what was in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah and Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla.

Anything in the path of Showa MechaG's All-Out Assault or Burning G's meltdown ray.

Also, the missile attack on GMK Goji is cool. Especially how the flames wrap around and consume him. And he returns the favor of awesome explosives in the "final battle" (read: annihilation) with the military.

Yeah, Showa Mechagodzilla FTW. The 70's pyrotechnics kicked ass, and I have no idea why the rest of the series doesn't have more explosions similar to these.

Godzilla 2000 had some nice blasts too, especially in the final shot.

^That was indeed a good one.

I also like Orga's death in G2K. And the way that Godzilla roars at his remains and they collapse is a nice touch.

Godzilla blowing up the city at the end of Godzilla 2000 was pretty bad ass.
