First Kamen Rider period. I'm not as big on their shows as I am Ultraman, but the Figuarts line is pretty fantastic. The articulation is head and shoulders above my Ultraseven, which is a figure I still think is good.

Any John Woo fans out there? Here's a custom figure I put together inspired by Chow Yun-Fat's wardrobe in the climactic gunfight of A Better Tomorrow II:

Also, I improved the belt on that Omega Man custom. Made a proper magazine pouch and flashlight holder from leather. Came out decent, IMO.

EDIT: Left out the title of Yun-Fat's movie!

You can find good head sculpts of him on eBay, painted or unpainted. Dragon bodies can be had fairly inexpensively, as well. It's the clothes that really hammer up the cost, though. Shit, you can pay more for 1/6 scale doll outfits than the real deal. I wish I had the fine motor skills necessary to make the costumes myself, like some folks do.

You know, isn't it a damn crime that I had to build a figure of Chow Yun Fat? This is the god of modern gunslinging action heroes, people! Seriously, there has to be a viable market for this kind of toy, even if it were only a modest production run.

It is actually straight-up called "Detective Chow," even though it was totally unlicensed (Dragon often unofficially uses actors' likenesses on their toys). I bought one when it came out years ago, but I never really thought the face was very good, and I always intended to swap the head out with a better sculpt. However, when I finally got the head shown above, I decided that I would much rather design a toy based on one of his vintage Hong Kong roles, rather than the NYPD uniform from The Corrupter that the Dragon figure wore.

Dragon's sculpts have gotten much more impressive over the past couple of years, and I would love to see them revisit Chow.

Got a question for any collectors out there that might have one...

How is the hot toys raimi spider-man figure? I want a really nice spidey figure... And this one looks amazing. But I have concerns about the material the webs on the suit are made with. Can they break easily?

It it worth it? Or should I wait for the hot toys Amazing Spiderman figure? Or are there other figures that anyone recommends?

It's a nice figure. I don't own one, but I handled it at a toy show and the outfit seemed solid to me. The webbing on the suit was rubber, and it looks about 5,000 times better than it possibly could have if it was printed on, but I understand why you're leery about it. Generally, HT stuff isn't terribly fragile, but they have had some issues with rubber deteriorating with time and wear-and-tear. I thought the same thing you did: is the webbing going to crack on me a couple years down the road? It's been a while since it came out, though, and I haven't heard anyone complaining of separation on the One-Sixth forum.

Honestly, I'm not crazy about the photos I've seen of the HT Amazing Spider-Man. If I decided to buy a new Spidey today, it would probably be the Raimi version.

Besides the Hot Toys releases, you could also check out Medicom's various Spider-Man figures. When the chips are down, I think HT has a better product, though.

I normally don't give a shit about toys but I must say if I were a collector I would find that Link and Samus very tempting.
