I don't know, it actually kinda makes sense when one recalls the bad condition the costume was in.

Didn't that suit catch on fire a few times too?

In any case, I'm inclined to agree that the cover art as it looks now is better than Sony's, by and large.

Is this film a special case? I only ask because you're Halloween 6/7/8 licence only covers North America too, with Lionsgate handling distribution in the UK and various others worldwide... yet every single Halloween and Hellraiser release is Region Free. I imagine it's because you focus on lower priced releases - I understand region coding is one of the more expensive aspects of putting together a BD.

^You have to accumulate 25 or 50 posts before you can use image codes. But keep in mind the artwork shown is nto final, anything is possible, including a reversable cover.

It's not the greatest cover art I've ever seen, but it's not that bad. I like it better than the cover-art on my bootleg copy.

It would've been awesome if we could've gotten a commentary for this film. If something like All Monsters Attack got a commentary ... but in all seriousness I'm still happy with what we're hearing so far. Hopefully the final product will be this great.

GODZILLA'S REVENGE got a commentary because it was part of the Classic Media's library of Toho films.

ANY film is worthy of a commentary, no matter how 'bad' you may think it is.

Oh I know why AMA got a commentary, I was just throwing it out there. And I wasn't intending to suggest a bad movie is "unworthy" of a commentary, but rather the demand tends to be higher for commentaries on the well received films. I actually like the commentaries on plenty of subpar movies that I watch, Godzilla Raids Again and Battle In Outer Space for two. Had Megalon actually gotten the commentary I hope it would've been good too.

Amazing! I cannot wait! That's incredible! Please, have those deleted scenes of the Godzilla's stop-motion swimming and Godzilla with the alternate flower ending. And any and all publicity stills in the film like this one but with much better quality than I have...

Image

I just recently got that Destroy All Monsters 2011 release from Tokyo Shock (Media Blasters) and although the film quality is superb, their audio compression on the oriignal AIP dub is awful and their DVD Menu is far too loud compared to the different audio they provided. I would recommend a last minute check on Biollante DVD to not create their mistake, and make sure the audio levels at more or less equal.

mxg744 wrote:I'm afraid to show it to you guys... I'm hoping its getting revised now that I've convinced a couple people of the importance of this release.
It's here for now...
Please don't download it or repost it to large media outlets or something, I'm not sure what the policy is on leaking pre-release art.

Hey leaking pre-release art is called a publicity stunt, haha! And it is very much welcomed!

I understand why the movie poster art is not being used because any confusion with any other versions would not occur with different cover art.

However, I would have recommend Biollante in the back as she is a very large and imposing monster (heaviest to date and is tied only with 1966 Ultraman's Skydon monster) then have Godzilla Front and Center over the title. Probably move Godzilla down just a skosh. Then have the Super X2 flying toward Godzilla, because his battles with the Super X2 are just a important to the film as the Anti-Nuclear-Energy-Bacteria is (but you can't make a picture of the ANEB).

Soon now...very soon we will have the most terrifying and deadliest and most recognizable Godzilla suits filling our screens....

Some of the shots you selected are of the animatronic head, Crimson_Raptor.

It's amazing how down-hill the quality of the animatronic heads went in the films after '91. There was this huge step up in quality compared to the Cybot in '84, and then suddenly they got kind of shitty afterwards. The one used in '92 is pretty derptastic in comparison to the previous two.

^^ I agree. 92 - 95 just seemed... odd. It went from reptilian to cartoony.

The Perfect Godzilla easily.
But hopefully the quality of GvsB looks great.

A fantastic design indeed. I wish MonsterArts would have gone for this version over the 94 version...BioGoji is more sinister and well-proportioned IMO.
