I feel like that people keep mistaking the quote of Oppenheimer's with the "multi-armed form" and they're thinking that means the monster in the trailer was a a bug of some kind. I haven't heard any sort of description from what the monster in the trailer looks like.

Then there's people who say the design looks "too fat" or "too much like Zilla" that I keep seeing pop up. One guy even called out people as "non-fans" for liking it.

Then there's all the people that think that Oppenheimer's speech is from the Book of Revelations/Raymond Burr or that it's referring to King Ghidorah.

So far, it's been pretty funny

I can understand the Raymond Burr thing since it sounds like something he would say even though the voice sounds nothing like him but the Bible? Sure it sounds bibicle but he says "I remember the Hindu scripture", and he's talking about a god who isn't named God.

It's amazing how people can pay attention and yet at the same time not pay attention.

This famous quote is probably the most haunting and fitting thing Legendary could have added to the trailer, and only a few people got it.

If people are getting this shit wrong, it makes me question if it really was a "centipede" that was featured in the trailer, and not a caterpillar or another similar insect.

Here is some one who really hate this film.

"This movie is going to be shit." but I'm actually gonna try and clarify that through a number of a statements:

A, making it entirely CGI, just don't do that. This is the same problem I have with a lot of grand spectacles I see on movies today. CGI looks FAKE, CGI doesn't look real and it will never have the same impact as actually doing it. A guy in a rubber suit walking through a miniature building looks like a guy in a rubber suit walking through a miniature building whereas a giant, CGI lizard destroying a house looks fake. This is really my main reservation and the one reason why I'm fairly certain Godzilla will never be as good as he was back in the days.

B, making it outside of Japan. Okay, so, guess what? Godzilla means skreeonk all to anyone outside Japan. He's a funny oddity that people like to see because it's goofy and stupid. But Godzilla means something to Japan because they understand what he was born from, we don't. Godzilla is a walking, roaring, destroying symbolism of the atomic bomb. The very fear they felt from the use of nuclear weapons on their native soil and the ramifications this had on the entire nation gave birth to Godzilla. We outside of Japan cannot possibly fathom what that's like and don't give me any of that "putting myself in their shoes", we understand their fear just as little as any white person can understand the fear a black man feels about slavery.

C, Godzilla has no place in modern society. This is probably my biggest problem with this whole debacle: Godzilla is a relic from a bygone era in more ways than one. Even the people who experienced and lived through the nuclear bombs are dead or very close to death now but more important, he's a symbol of a bygone era in cinema as well. The Millenium series felt pointless enough as it was but at least that had awesome miniature and suit works, what the hell is this gonna bring, good looking CGI? Oh yeah, that's a draw these days, please, sweep me off my feet. What's the point of making a Godzilla movie these days? To make a disaster movie and let's just count on one hand how many of THOSE have been good in recent years.

D, they want to make 3D an important part. Go skreeonk yourself, it's not new, it adds skreeonk all, it's a pointless gimmick and movies are made less for using it. No, really, I thought Avengers was less of a movie for using 3D. Not because it looked like shit, which it did, but because it made me go "What's the point? This isn't making the movie better or worse... in fact, no 3D I've seen has ever really made it better or worse..." It's stupid and complete gimmick bullshit.

I have no faith in this movie turning out good at all. I respect Godzilla on so many levels, their work with miniatures and suit works has gone from amazing to absolutely brilliant over the years and there have been very few things to rival Godzilla in this department and has, as a matter of fact, been a major draw over the decades. I know I sound archaic and boring when I say it but Godzilla without the miniatures and suits and what have you... it's just NOT going to work.

Also, it's made in America and it's not gonna turn out any better than last time. Feel free to prove me wrong, movie, I dare ya!

Damn, that guy needs to chill be before he has a hernia. I mean seriously, we only have a TEASER trailer and poster that probably wont even be the final product by time movie comes out. Another thing is he must have not been following anything or been hiding under a rock...Godzilla has a huge following outside of Japan, for instance, look right here at Tohokingdom. Plus, Edwards seems like and has said it multiple times, that he LOVES the Godzilla movies and respects them...so im sure its safe to say he wont make this a joke of a movie like GINO. Plus, when was it ever said that it be completely in CGI? (Forgive me if im mistaken) but even if it was, there are compaines out there who do fantastic work with CGI and special effects. This guy needs tooo...well no im done ranting :) thank you lol

HellSpawn you found gold in dem ther hills!

There's been plenty of G movies where you forget it's a guy in a suit because it's done really well, like in the 90's and 2000's. If he thinks a guy in a suit is supposed to look like a guy in a suit then I'm glade he isn't in charge of any films SFX, Godzilla or otherwise.

Oh and what makes Godzilla is not his suit, his personality and how he's portrayed as an actual character, a thinking breathing animal instead of just some plot device. The suit doesn't make him, the suit and CGI are both pointless if he doesn't act like Godzilla.

B, making it outside of Japan. Okay, so, guess what? Godzilla means skreeonk all to anyone outside Japan.

All the hype at Comic-con and the likes on facebook and even the articals would like to disagree with this guy. Hell I've been seeing non-fans say they might go see it when it comes out.

I was six when I saw the first film, I understood the message just fine and some guy who saw the screening of the first flick in New York back in 2004 said the average joes who went to see it stopped laughing when they realized it was a serious film. I wonder if the mom and her kids helped sell the point home. Just cause people mostly only know the campy hero from the 70's doesn't mean that can't take him seriously in a serious flick, you just have to give them time. :P

we understand their fear just as little as any white person can understand the fear a black man feels about slavery.

Okaaaaaaaaaay.

This guy needs to pick up a history book, there's been white slaves, and in some parts of the world there still is. Just cause you don't see or hear about it doesn't mean it's not there. Also gotta love how this feels like the Nazi argument.

Also bring up racial tension in a topic about a monster movie, when it has nothing to do with that shit? Not cool bro. -_-

C, Godzilla has no place in modern society. This is probably my biggest problem with this whole debacle: Godzilla is a relic from a bygone era in more ways than one. Except, you know, the fact that nuclear weapons STILL exist and are STILL a threat and that some batshit dictator could blow up the world by causing a nuclear war if he wanted. Hell there's a black market for nuclear weapons, someone is stealing them and rouge groups like terrorist are buying them. Keep in mind this has been going on for years and still is.

Nuclear weapons are STILL very much a big threat today, just cause you don't hear talks about it 24/7 doesn't mean the danger isn't there.

The only thing he actually makes a good point about. It is a stupid gimmick. But how often do you get to see a giant monster movie in 3D these days? In the 50's and 60's? All the time. Today? Never. So I'm gonna see it twice, once in 3D and once in normal with my friends. Hell I might even see it a third time.

I have no faith in this movie turning out good at all. I respect Godzilla on so many levels, their work with miniatures and suit works has gone from amazing to absolutely brilliant over the years and there have been very few things to rival Godzilla in this department and has, as a matter of fact, been a major draw over the decades.

If you had actually looked up what they've been doing and saying, you'd see they are taking this very seriously.

I know I sound archaic and boring

That's an understatement.

when I say it but Godzilla without the miniatures and suits and what have you... it's just NOT going to work.

Once again it's not the suit that makes Godzilla, well, Godzilla. It's how they have the character act. Suit, CGI, hell I don't care as long as he looks and acts like the Godzilla we all know and love.

Also, it's made in America and it's not gonna turn out any better than last time.

From the few pictures we've seen and from what people are saying about the teaser, it's already turning out way better then GINO.

Feel free to prove me wrong, movie, I dare ya!

Someone call the Wambalence cause I think the fanboys gonna cry once he realizes the movie proved him wrong. :P

I don't understand how some of these bloggers find entertainment in movies. People need to relax and stop over analyzing movies, you might enjoy them more.

It's pretty clear he's already made up his mind. He's not gonna even give the film a chance, which is a real shame since if the film does end up being the G film we've been waiting for since 12+ years then he's punishing himself over nothing.

I actually feel sad for him.

This kid's gonna get hit by a 747, his head's so high up in the clouds.

Someone might want to point out to this kid that Russia still has all sorts of Cold War doomsday bullshit unaccounted for, stuff that the terrorists would just love to get their hands on.

And I wonder if he's noticed that everytime it looks as though North Korea and Iran get closer to having nukes, a good number of people in high places freak the skreeonk out?
