Looking at all the article and reports it seems like the hype for this movie is through the roof! A lot of people are even saying it overshadowed a lot of other stuff

Every single one agrees that the crowd went absolutely wild and crazy!

How big do you think the hype is now?

Why not add a poll? We could at least get an informal survey of how TK posters feel about the news.
Now it's dark...

I'm honestly not that hyped about the actual movie at all, nor do I get very excited about film in general these days. I am more concerned about the subsequent home video releases of older films that may follow, which are beginning to pop up already.

Hype for this movie has increased 100X since this news was released, in comparison to when they first announced the was an American Reboot on the way.

Aint-it-cool most people when first mentioned hated the idea of another one, after this news most of the responses are very positive i am still in shock about that.
Comingsoon has a very positive response
Comicbookmovie has nothing but positive responses an hopes to see the trailer
Bloody-Digusting only had 1 negative comment an that's because there pissed they have to wait till 2014 to see it LOL

I have checked several websites, there will always be the haters but majority are looking forward to this film esp now. So for a film that most people went ''Ugh'' about when it was first announced i'd say this is fantastic news for the franchise.

For what it counts, I'm excited. Couldn't imagine NOT being excited, let alone disappointed.

Add all that to the 6-7,000 people in attendance at Hall H that went absolutely WILD both times they showed the trailer. Officials there said it was like a bunch of fans for a big time pop singer or rockstar. People were screaming their heads off!

I have to echo this somewhat,

all around the net people are excited for Pacific Rim and for Godzilla, although from the sound of things a LOT of people were more shocked and excited about the Godzilla teaser. Pacific Rim's thunder wasn't stolen by the teaser since it had a lot more to offer from what I'm hearing, but Godzilla was pretty much a bomb shell and brought the whole house down.

Glad to see Godzilla bared positive responses, looks like America is interested in seeing the King again after all.

Hyped up for potential good games. NeterRealm, Rock Steady, Namco. One of you better make a good game eventually since people are clearly interested.

As for the movie, cautious.

I actually Ive heard more people talk about Godzilla than Pacific Rim. Apparently the crowd was WAY more into Godzilla than Pacific Rim

Anyways look at some of the trending stuff on Twitter about the movie. Great stuff!

Hopefully casting and filming begin soon! Especially with such a HUGE positive reaction tonight they will really want to move forward now!

Which is often hilariously indicative of a ton of positive hype. Then you've got the attention seekers, lol. I can't imagine an actual G Fan not being even the slightest bit giddy.

When do you all think we can expect the teaser to be officially released on the net? Possibly during next week? Maybe next weekend?

No matter how good Pacific Rim is, in the back of your mind you'll be thinking "This would be so much cooler if Godzilla was in it"

That's VERY true for me. I wonder how impressive the Pac Rim footage was if Goji overshadowed it...

Godzilla may disappear for a while, but he's never far from a true fan's heart. There's more of them out there than you might think.

You could go up to ANY person on the street and ask them if they've heard of Godzilla, and they'll say yes. Try it.

Something else on my to-do list.

I'm excited, and always will be, for new Godzilla. Hopefully this turns out for the best!

And there's that too. He might not be the king in Japan anymore but few monsters have the type of international reknown/appeal that Godzilla has. People will be coming out of the woodwork for this movie.

I remember reading once...

Top five most recognizable fictional characters, around the world.

It was something like:

Superman
Batman
Spider-Man
King Kong

...and Godzilla.

These are all characters that your friends mother could recognize on sight, and this is a universal thing.

There is absolutely a reason that Godzilla is a "property", hot or cold.
