It seems the developers of Heavenly Sword have teamed up with Capcom to reboot the DMC franchise.

I like the overhaul. I was never into DMC, but seeing this made me want to see more of the game.

I really hate how this game is going so far. Why a reboot? DMC4 was a good game, and sold very well. I really hate the western feel to the game, and how they change Dante made me really made. Screw you Ninja Theory.

No he actually resembles him, this new Dante is badass, but it's nowhere near as cool as the Classic Dante.

I really hate the new look for Dante, and why the hell did they want to reboot the series anyway when the last game was a great game. Fans and Crtics enjoy it, and that the game sold very well. I was hoping that DMC5 would return to its darker roots similar to DMC3, and take place after DMC2.

Theirs rumors that its a prequel to DMC3 but I doubt it since they made a manga of DMC3 which is a prequel to DMC3, and its canon as well. So I'm pretty sure this game has nothing to do with the past few games.

There's this nifty little trick called 'retcon' y'know.

Anyway, I AM MIXED. Part of me wants to dive in head first, and the other part wants to take a rocket launcher to the developers.

I mean look at that guy! He's Dante, in that he does things I expect Dante to do, and yet he isn't Dante, in that he looks nothing like him!

Waitaminute... Did I see a flash of classic Dante during the 40 sec mark?

I've been wanting to play DMC for a while. How is DMC1, DMC2, and DMC3?

DMC1 and DMC3 where great, and I would say DMC3 is the best in the series. The second game is pretty bad, but you can check it out if you want. I think starting off with DMC3: Special Edition would be good choice for people who are new in the series.

Any backstory that I need from DMC1 or DMC2 in order to understand DMC3?

Not really, DMC2 is often conisder to not be canon to the series. DMC3 is a prequel to the first game, and I don't think you need to play DMC1 to understand what is going on in DMC3.

You can play DMC3 no problem since it is the first game chronologically.

His eyes, in the close up, dye his hair white and you've got Dante in there.

Dante in the new game has a different face then he did in the past few game, and I don't like the music played in the trailer as well. What happen to the metal, and hard rock music that was in the past four games?

It's too early for me to be sure of anything, but so far, I'm liking how this looks. The previous DMC games were very good, but they started slipping into cliche. Dante himself was starting to lose my interest, he really didn't have much going for him in the last few games. He started being less bad-ass and more of a show off really. Some criticisms of DMC4 said that the the formula for the DMC games was starting to get old. So... yeah, I think a reboot is a good idea. I'm actually liking this new Dante, his personality and design really come through. I actually like the fact that he's a more savage and enraged character, he seems more motivated and determined than his prior incarnation. Not to mention, I like the fact that he's much more lean and skinny than the former Dante, somehow makes his display of strength seem more impressive, that and he's not so idealized, and again it's something new. This revamp of Dante just comes off as being more fresh. The old Dante was.... well.... getting old.... (no pun intended)

You know what? It's rapidly growing on me. And besides, we haven't seen actual gameplay yet so it is still way to early to make half-a'd remarks.

And when this comes out, I'll end up getting it. Why? Well when you have Sonic '06 given to you as a gift, you really need every chance of redemption you can get, because you can't get rid of gifts without coming off as an ungrateful a-hole.

Maybe we will see some gameplay footage soon then I might change my mind. Right now, I really don't like how this game looks so far.
