Can Hedorah really count as evil? Yeah he didn't give a darn about all the life he was killing but he seemed more concern with eating to survive in a world not made for him then anything and he didn't really go out of his way to try and kill Godzilla until the Mt: Fuji battle. He's more neutral then anything.

Now Showa Mechagodzilla is evil. Yes he's a robot but he seemed to have a personality, I mean wasting time just to spin your hands or rotate them sideways before firing or even shoving his hand into King Ceasar's mouth seems rather illogical for a machine and he seemed less like a puppet being controlled and more like a guard dog following orders. When they told him to kill they didn't say how they just said kill and he'd do it however he see's fit. He really wasn't being strictly controlled until his second movie. So for his first movie he seemed like a pretty smart A.I.

To be honest though, I think the rotating hands is to either:

A. Prime the missles for firing

or

B. Reloading


Oh and my vote goes to Destroyah. Yeah King Ghidorah wipes out life. Give Destroyah the ability to survive and travel in space and he could prolly do the same thing.

Destoroyah: A big, stupid force of nature. He acts like a predator and that's it. Are wolves evil? How about lions? When did Destoroyah show any evil intent whatsoever?
Ghidorah: A big, stupid force of chaos for one film... Who's one sadistic act was to shoot Goji in the junk. Everyone's puppet and chump in every other film. Not sure if he's intelligent enough to consider "evil". Just seems more like an intergalactic tornado.
Spacegodzilla: Willfully sadistic. He is the closest thing Goji had to a super villain. Tortures Little Godzilla for kicks.
Gigan: Who knows to what extent the roaches were controlling him? If it was minimal I'd say he counts as evil.
Mechagodzilla: Yeah... no. He's a weapon, plain and simple. And emotionless machine. Hell, he's just an extension of the Simeons' will, and has no intent of his own.
Hedorah: LC covered this. Not really evil.

Even when they broke free of mind control him and Gigan still choose to continue the fight with Godzilla and Angurius instead of just leaving.

Though Gigan ditched his partner soon after. An instinct to fight =/= evil or insanity. Insanity implies that Ghidorah had the potential to be rational. I think he's just a force of chaos. Hell, choosing to fight to the death instead of running in DAM shows a lack of intelligence.

Um...King Ghidorah did try to run away in DAM. When Godzilla was holding on to him and Godzilla blasted him in the back of the neck with his ray. He was trying to flee the fight, but Godzilla stopped him.

Which is a good thing cause had he escaped he would have just caused more death and suffering wherever he went, and he'd already escaped several times in the other films. This was meant to be victory for the Earth monsters who finally ended him once and for all and, in a sense, freeing and saving not just Earth but the whole galaxy, maybe even the universe from a horrible tyrant of death.

A great way to end the Godzilla series had things gone as originally planned and DAM ended up being the last one.
