Hmmm... I'm trying to wean myself off of X-Plus for a while since I've spent a fortune for four 30cm figures and two 25cm figures in the last two months, but the 25cm scale Anguirus 68 sounds quite tempting as does the Godzilla 1968. Due to the cost of these things, I may have to buy one or the other. Most likely, if I do buy, it'll be Anguirus.

But...jeez! Come on King Ghidorah? I don't care which scale you're in. Just come out already so I can have you!

Maybe well see the entire DAM lineup in 25cm. I'd be ok with another, this time, 25cm Gorosaurus.
I'd like to see some different molds, like maybe a Gigan or Mechagodzilla version of Anguirus, where is face is cut up from the blades or jaw pulled open. Possibly a flattened Anguirus after Ghidorah jumped on him. Ever since Anguirus lost to 55G, he's become a jobber. He just shows up to get worked over.

I just re read the Mothra Larva re release and it says no LED, so I was wrong. Though they claim this Larva is squishy soft.

I'm wondering whether King Ghidorah would have a figure released in the 25cm line also. If so, if I buy both Godzilla '68 and Anguirus '68, I'll have the Godzilla vs. Gigan roster down since I already have 25cm Gigan - despite its cheesiness and lackluster use of stock footage, Godzilla vs. Gigan is honestly a favorite of mine too.

But yeah, I've been reconsidering, and if I have the money in time, I'll definitely buy both the 25cm Godzilla and Anguirus '68.

My 30cm 89 came today. Nice figure. No complaints. The jaw moves allowing you to open the mouth wider or limit it. However, the mouth can't close all the way, as there are two rows of teeth. Similar to the 25cm version.

That's so great to hear! I can't wait till I get mine... though it won't be till the 18th that I'll be getting it.

For those who own the 30cm Rodan 1964, I have a question.

Have you guys ever had any issues with displaying him? I only ask because mine has this bad habit of falling under its own weight. The right wing, which is one of its balance points bends under the weight causing the figure to fall forward. Mine was displayed over one of my cabinets in my room and it fell onto the floor. Fortunately there wasn't any damage to the figure, and only a few minor scratches in the paint on its back (the figure fell forward and flipped on its back before landing on the floor), nothing highly noticeable. This design flaw kind of makes me REGRET buying Rodan now, because it's hard for me to display him without knowing that it's going to keep falling on its own weight.

For those who have this issue, or had an issue like this, how can I fix this?
At this moment, I feel as if I flushed $240 down the toilet with this figure...

Perhaps when I return home to Guam, I'll display Rodan behind my two 25cm figures, Gigan and MechaGodzilla '74. Hopefully by doing that, if Rodan tips forward again, the two figures will catch it and prevent it from falling all the way. Still, I'm upset at this flaw...

I've got mine posed with the X-Plus Minya and Godzilla '68 from the same line, and they help 'support' him. Yes it is a pain to keep standing, but, so far its worked.

Use a putty on his feet. I bought some from Home Depot, it's used for knick-knacks and it doesn't harm the figures. It can be rolled off very easily. I used it for action figures though, not sure if it'll be strong enough to prevent an X-Plus from taking a dive. Still, it's worth a try. The stuff I bought was called Ticky Tack I believe and it was yellow. Failing that, try a hobby store and ask for museum putty.

I only have one X-Plus at the moment, but this announcement may change all of that. That is a perfect pair, if I could have no others, to have in this line.

Also Gamera 96! Inagural member of the Daiei 30 cm series.

Also got my 30cm G'89 in. Not a fan of the jaw, the "closed" position is really the only nice accurate look. When its open it looks fairly ridiculous. i really just wish the seam was not there.

Now I think the eyes are much better than the 25cm verision, and from some angles the sculpt is just great. From others, the head appears too small and pointy. Strange, but overall I am happy with it. Definately will say that x-plus does not "get" the Heisei sculpts like the Showa or Millenium.

Speaking of Gamera, I officially started my own small "Gamera" figure collection this past weekend and picked up a bunch of Xplus Gamera figures:



GAMERA 96

The Gamera 96 figure is pretty sweet. I always felt that the Gamera 96 suit was the definitive Gamera look (never cared for the 99 suit has the whole "Gamera is dark/evil" didn't really fit Gamera as a character and looked off). There was a showa "crawling" Gamera Xplus figure as well, but I passed on it for now.

Probably my favorite figure of the batch I picked up. Wonderful figure of my favorite Gamera foe. However, I will say this....it's legs were *A B*TCH* to get on. Holy mother of God....much worse than getting the Bandai King Ghidorah's wings on...I almost threw this thing against a wall several times....not even the hair drying technique helped that much.

This figure is nice, but a little on the small side in scale (it should be about an inch or two bigger). Also, it would be nice if there were "shooting star" details on the sides of his head. Overall, a good figure...but I prefer the Bandai figure.

I won't even write up anything on the Gyaos...it sucks and is the worst of the bunch. It can't even stand properly without falling over...a sign of poor design. It's the only one of the bunch I regret buying (I should have bought a new SH Mogera for 3000 yen instead), and I plan to replace it asap whenever I hunt down the 8 inch Bandai figure.

Other than the Gyaos, I am please with these figures as a whole, and look forward to hunting down Xplus's other Gamera figures (Viras, Zigra, Heisei Gyaos/hyper-Gyaos, Legion, Barugon, and Iris)...

X-Plus's gamera series was always good, but I hope these new 25 and 30cms really set a high standard.

I really want the X-Plus Barugon, but I can't find it ANYWHERE, and I refuse to buy the Bandai one, always looked kinda cheap in my opinion.

Thanks for the link...looks like it comes in different packaging that the other Xplus Gamera figures....looks ok, but as you said, not great. It would be nice if I could find the Marmit MH Barugon figure...

I have that Barugon figure and a couple X-Plus Gamera vinyls and the detail of many of their figures 15 years ago was comparable to Marmits, even Marmits today. Sega made some good Gamera figures too.
I dont know if the new line of Gamera X-Plus figures will be leaps a bounds above their older offerings, because the early Gamera figures where a simple cartoony looking suits, with limited detail in their design to begin with. The Badai Gamera Memorial box is nice and still an affordable way to get all the early Gamera figures.
Now X-Plus can shine with the detail in the 90's Gameras for sure. Especially if we get them in cool poses. Oh I forgot, X-Plus doesn't like to do action poses.

Can you post a photo of the XPlus Barugon? I have yet to find a pic of it anywhere...

My bad... The one I have is the Sega Barugon. I had seen that listed elsewhere as produced by X-Plus, for Sega, but I guess not. The figure in the video is different.
