We don't often get to see what the G1-G3.5 fans and collectors think of us. There's apparantly some resentment towards us because we've gotten more attention in a year than they've had in decades, but I can certainly understand that. I'm not terribly excited about the LP Godzilla movie for the same reason.

So basically, if I read that correctly, G1 fans are getting pissy at us because we said screw the target demographic and destroyed the line between what guys/girls like while they were busy collecting things MEANT for them?

I recently had a thought: What if all the characters and creatures from the show ended up in the real world?

Then we would kill their innocent charm and ruin everything.

(yes it includes dinosaurs).

1) Why?

2) How?

If this seems snappy, it's not aimed solely at you, kiryu. I just don't do human in Equestria stuff and vice versa. The only story I've ever read loyally that involves a pony-human crossover is Anthropology, and that's mostly because of Lyra.

And anywho, the resentment from the earlier fans is a bit odd, but I think I get it. Really, we're not even part of the same fandom. It's not like they could embrace our ways, since we're generally more into online fads and such over the toys. And we bronies tends to stick to G4 stuff anyway. We're just not part of the same group. It'd be like if there was a larger, more passionate fanbase for GINO that outcompeted us classic Godzilla fans.

Personally, I look forward to having an influx of Godzilla fans from the Legendary movie. They mighty come for the new movie, but hopefully some would stay for the older stuff.

I feel bad for the veteran fans sometimes. Though it should be noted that the atention this new fandom originally got was because of how wtf the idea of male grown up fans was. The fandom getting so close and active and vocal, I believe, was in defense against the (expected) rejection and hate from third parties, such a thing naturally got atention.

If the masses in general would have taken easy that such a show could have fans, thing wouldn't be like they are now.

Gonna have to agree. HiE fics get dull, and turning the humans into ponies kills the point of there even having a human in the first place.

I much more prefer other Earth creatures instead in Equestria.

Honestly, I'm glad we got some hate and got forced to huddle together and support each other. Without that mentality the whole way through, we (and the show) probably wouldn't be where we are today.

And the resentment due to lack of attention thing perplexes me because, if they wanted more attention, they should've tried for more attention.

In reality, they make us stronger. I must say, the idea is very satisfying.

Personally, I look forward to having an influx of Godzilla fans from the Legendary movie. They mighty come for the new movie, but hopefully some would stay for the older stuff.

Some will get into the old stuff, yeah. But the overwhelming majority will throw their support squarely behind the Legendary movie, and treat Toho's G and his fans with the same level of respect most bronies have for the old pony generations. Which isn't a huge problem or anything, but it will be annoying. So I can see where the pony collectors are coming from.

All that said, we're still the best fandom in the history of everything. And Bronycon kicks off tomorrow, so enough negativity; this is a time to celebrate! Can't wait to watch all the VA panels and everything. Those are always entertaining.

The only problem I have with the series is the wanking on Spike. I just don't like it.

Aside from that, Friendship is Witchcraft easily qualifies as a more mature MLP series in my book anyday.

Where you really expecting "Doctor Whooves" (Or, "The Doctor", if you want to be acurate)? It's name is based on his role in the show, and it's made so it references what the fans made this background pony... it's glorious.

I don't know if they "love us" or just want our money... I would give them my money for this kind of merchandise, but I can't, but you can, remember it.

I wonder if there will be a Derpy... it could be a rare one...
