Fan since the late nineties. At around age seven, Mom keeps saying Dad passed it on to me, but what I really remember is the Godzilla Compendium Guide that I insisted get bought from a Stop & Shop-like establishment. I remember going to Mike's Mad Videos, looking at the color photos in the middle and especially liking SpaceGodzilla. Fortunately, Mike's Mad Videos had plenty of Godzilla films, and usually got the ones I needed to see sooner or later. Never looked back.

Also, the compendium helped me read before it fell apart, so that was a good bonus.

I've been a fan since I was 4 during the mid 90s, my 1st Godzilla toy was a trendmasters posable Godzilla figure, & my 1st movie was Godzilla vs Mothra(1964).

I took each page of my Godzilla compendium and put each page in a transparent plastic sleeve and a binder after mine fell apart.

I wish they would update that and release a new edition. But with all of the newer content available online it isn't financially practical.

I don't remember when I first started getting into Godzilla, but as a kid I always saw Godzilla as this horror icon, like a black creature that was made for killing. My first Godzilla film was Godzilla vs Mothra, and I found it amazing. I once even had a dream of a man-sized Godzilla in my garage. Eventually I saw that Godzilla wasn't how I saw him and soon I became a true fan.

I have been a fan since early 1994 since I remember renting Godzilla: King of the Monsters on VHS and getting King Kong vs. Godzilla for Easter. So I have been a Godzilla fan for 18 years.

Comments like this make feel old . It's still nice to see older fans posting because it's interesting to talk to fans that have been watching Godzilla since the 70's and 80's.

I've been a fan for 13 years as well.
My first Godzilla movie was in fact the American one, but my first Toho film I watched was King Kong vs. Godzilla. Since then I fell in love with the franchise and been a fan ever since.

I still have my first toy, too. Got him and a Mothra for Easter in '96 or '97, right as I was first discovering the series. I remember the ads for the rest of the line on the back of the box being the first I'd heard of Rodan, Mecha-Ghidorah, and possibly one or two others. Spent the whole day staring at them and re-reading the descriptions over and over... that was a good day. And one of the only Easters from back then I remember much about.
