The possible future of Godzilla films

Post by gatorzilla »

This is a great article talking about fanfiction and films
All of us talk how we want this or that in a Godzilla movie or one done this way or that
The only way to do movies like that is for us to get in the industry ourselves
I think Marvel has been a prime example on how to do it with the way theyve done their movies
Hopefully Legendary does the same with Godzilla

Motion capture WOULD give the monsters more life if they are not going to be rubber suits. ''King Kong'' and ''Rise of the Planet of the Apes'' did it quite well. Andy Serkis as Godzilla!

Godzilla is one of my most favorite movies. I have seen all parts of it and it would be fantastic if the future sequels comes with motion capture.

I think motion capture would be a good idea for Godzilla. It would be the best of both worlds.

The question I have about a new Godzilla is do we want him walking upright like he has in the past or more like the T-Rex in the Jurassic Park movies?

Godzilla MUST remain upright.

I am not sure. I am open to him being more dinosaur like. If the design is good it could work.

The middle stance between horizontal and vertical is also possible.
This. Like they did in Godzilla 2000.

A middle ground would be alright. Fully or mostly horizontal is a bad idea.
Godzilla needs to retain at least SOME of his "retro-dino" stance.

That would be a good compromise. Somewhere in between the two extremes of being totally upright and horizontal.

That problem is solved, what's next?

^Those designs are still considered upright, even if they've got a hunch going on. I think Rody meant that Godzilla should never be horizontal like GINO.

GINO was too horzontal. Something between GINO and the normal stance of the typical suit would be good.

Just to emphasize....

Godzilla was not based off of this:

Godzilla was based off of THIS:

If you "modernize" Godzilla too much, you take away an essential piece of his iconic character.
