"The flying Hedorah is delayed at least one or possibly two months. I was supposed to at have a test shot to show at G-fest this month, but that will not happen. There are 4 different companies involved with production and one of them has delayed work on any Y-MSF figures for at least a month. Also, I'm hoping for the Rodan (I belive it's 64) Christmas. That's the goal, but there has never been a set release date for any Y-MSF figures."~ Tony

Interesting. Thanks for the update.

I recently lost out on a Y-MSF Gabara, Manda, and Kumonga on eBay.They're just not worth $40-50 something dollars to me yet.

The Manda sculpt, however - the more I look at it, the more I appreciate the amount of detail in that unique figure.

I was considering bidding on Megalon, but fell asleep and missed the auction, but they really aren't. If you buy clear or GID figures. I'd recomend having Steve Ceragoli (if I am saying his name correctly) paint them. He is cheap on Y-MSF figures and if you're curious he did the KKE and KKVG anniversary sets.

I am going through a Showa Gamera phase so...

What would you all think if Y-MSF did Showa Gamera kaiju would you think it'd turn out good, bad, Y-MSF really shouldn't do Gamera kaiju and why do you think one of those options (because I already can name one person who'd say "Yeah! That'd be awesome I'd buy it!")

I for one think Y-MSF should do Barugon, Jiger and Zigra (in his swimming pose) because the Barugon by Bandai is just meh to me and Jiger is good, but I think it could be just a bit better and X-Plus Zigra is just a big pain in the ass to find. That and I think we could get some accessories like Viras's and Zigra's ship and then the gymnastics pole Gamera was swinging on then maybe we could even get that rock that blocks Zigra's paralysis beam, but now I am just being an ass.

What do you all think?

Well of course we'd need the rock that blocked Zigra! Everyone knows Y-MSF has the greatest rocks of all time :P
In all seriousness that would be pretty awesome. The Showa Gamera cast could always use more vinyl love.

There are plenty of rocks in the Godzilla line that they still need to do before they move on to Gamera rocks. :huge:

But before I start getting me hopes up I'd like to see some of the "comming soon" figures arrive.

I LOVE Y-MSF figures! They picked up where Bandai left off. I love their figures. I can't believe that people hate these...but this is a Godzilla forum, so I shouldn't be suprised. These figures fit in well with 6 inch Bandai figures, and this is why I like the pre-existing figures.

Note that I said pre-existing figures. I don't like that they show off more prototypes then they could make. The octopus and sea serpent were also a joke. But when I heard they were coming back, to bring us a Flying Hedorah, I got my hopes up. I might regain faith in the company. But now it's almost September and I'm not holding a Flying Hedorah. All talk? No, I understand that it's one man doing all this, so I can't blame him. And other people on this board shouldn't be hating this line either. YOU trying producing a 6-inch figure line. I dare ya!

Legion, I want to know. Why do you dislike this line? Enlighten me on what's wrong with Y-MSF figures.

I've made it a point to start collecting these... but I still dont have a single one. I just can't shell out $60 for these guys when I can spend the same on MMHs and such! Personal preference, I suppose. Hopefully I can find a few at decent prices in the near future.

He's a one man operation. What he does on his lonesome is impressive (though his decisions are soimetimes questionable coughseasnakecough), and he has done several figures that the big boys don't dare to touch. And a few are spectacular. I don't find what Mr. X said stupid at all.

@Uncanny- That being said, I agree. It's really the price that's keeping me from grabbing these. Particularly Kumonga.

Like it's been said, this is a one-man operation. He wanted to make a figure line single-handedly, and did so. If you want to, you can. It's a stupid argument for a movie, but here, it's valid.

The price is obviously going to be higher so the man could afford to keep producing figures. I know the retail for Bandai figures was a lot lower (A LOT), but quite a few of Bandai's figures go for more than Y-MSF figures today. Whatever you'll spend on Bandai figures should be around what you spend on Y-MSF figures. Granted, the Y-MSF figures are an inferior vinyl, but since most of you just put 'em on shelves anyway, why not just display them next to their Bandai counterparts to recreate a scene or something?
There's also the fact that each Y-MSF figure is limited. There are supposed to be 300 Rodans. I don't believe that there's that little, but they are limited.

And Y-MSF figures are like Bandai figures. If you look in the right places or wait long enough, you'll find good deals. I did.

Image

These are my Y-MSF figures. The most expensive was Manda. Paid more than I wanted for him, but the others were good deals:

Megalon & Kumonga: $50 for both. $25 each.
Hedorah: $20
Mini Hedorah: $5
Minilla & Giant Sea Serpent: $25 for both.
Giant Octopus: $20 (More than it should be)
Burning Godzilla 1962: $30

You'll find good deals on these things sooner or later. Just like Bandai figures.

This. I actually want some of these figures, but I feel like more than $30 or so is just plain too much for what you get with Y-MSF: Brand new (read: no historical significance in Godzilla toys) six inch figures of hit and miss sculpt quality and purportedly shoddier vinyl than other makers use.

At the prices you listed, Mr. X, I'd buy some--like when I got my Raymundo Mechanikong for about $20 shipped--but I haven't seen prices like that pop up.
Now it's dark...

Everyone is aware that Y-MSF is a one-man job. It has only been said about one million times. The test shots for all the Hedorahs have been posted in FB groups. I just can't get the pictures to upload. Someone wanna help me out here?
