ULTRA-Act

Postby Lamango » Mon Sep 06, 2010 5:35 pm

So what if it's not truly TOHO Related, Ultraman and Godzilla are brain brothers of Eiji.
So yeah, the Ultra-Act figures, pretty awesome. More poseability than a GI-Joe. The Gomora is the coolest one, even though you have no idea which continuty he's from. Also, they can pretty much get rid of the three-point articulation of the Bandai Ultras and most aliens. I'd love to see a Baltan or DADA from this company. If Toho lets them, a great few additions, ZoneFighter, Jet Jaguar, and other things. It'd be like a more scaled Revoltec of some Kaiju. A Ultra-Act Godzilla would be welcomed.

We are getting Baltan, Baltan II specifically. And it seems that Revoltech has been doing the Toho/Daiei kaiju, so we'll probably have to get used to shorter Revoltech figures, even though they look beautiful.

I like the Ultr-Act figures too. I think that G omora looks awesome compared to Bandai's release of Showa Gomora.

Like I said in the other thread, I have never bought an Ultramonster but I really like Eleking and bought the new Bandai one. I have seen pics of the new Ultra-Act one and I really would like to get a hold of one.

Bandai does Ultra-Act, actually.
And I'm psyched Eleking, Baltan, and Zamusha.

BigBadToyStore has the first Ultraman available on "backorder" (I got the last order in before it went to "sold out") and lists it as being available this month. Anyone know if they're actually going to ship these again? Or should I just find one on eBay?

I love my Gomora and Ultraseven!

Got both of these for Christmas and have Eleking coming in as a late Xmas gift, so it was pretty much Ultra Actmas for me.

I have Golza and he is the best one yet. He comes with Gutswing 02 and a switchable forehead blast piece. Of course he'll run you over $100 so most people don't think he's worth it. I however, got him for slightly less and think he's friggin' awesome.

I got Ultra-Act Ultras Mebius, Tiga( Dark ), & Belial from HLJ during clearance sales. I really like the Gomora, but it's a bit pricey on the secondary market.

I'm curious; how do the Ultra-Act figures scale in with their soft vinyl counterparts?

(Images would be appreciated)

Let's see if I can help with that.

Bandai Gomora vs Ultra Act Gomora.
Image

As you can see, they're pretty similar height-wise when the Ultra Act is standing erect (that's what she said). Granted, Ultra Act Gomora can slump over quite a bit more, but it can be just about as tall as the Bandai. Where they really differ, though, is in the tail and body.

Image

Ultra Act Gomora is quite a hunk of toy with a truly impressive tail.

As for Ultra heroes, here's Ultraseven and Godora Seijin along with Bandai Gomora from the previous pic for reference.

Finally, a pic showing a variety of figures.

Overall, I'd say they scale rather well.

Gomora is amazing, except mine has a pretty loose joint on one leg.

Still, as you can probably tell from the pics, it looks fantastic. Still waiting on the Eleking that should have been shipped to me...

I might be considering purchasing the Ultraman Belial figure. Looks better than the Bandai hunchback/Battlenizer figures.

Thoughts?

Why haven't they done an Ultra-Act Red King? Red King is just as iconic to the Ultraman franchise as Gomora or Baltans!

That I ask myself like since the line debuted. Same with Zetton. Well, I have still have hopes for future releases of both of them, though.

One thing that I love about not only this line, but almost every line that Tamashii makes is that you get pretty damn good quality figures that look nice.

The main problem with the lines is, however, if you're not on board with the series from the beginning:

A) There's NO way for you to get the exclusives or even some of the normal figures

OR

B) You'll be paying out the wazoo to get the rarer figures.

@GreenAiden555: well, that's the case with almost every series of our beloved, monstrous collectibles. I'm glad that I was on board from the beginning this time.

If we get Earthtron, Red King, Silvagon, EX Gomora, King Saurus III, Black King, and Tyrant I can die a happy man.
