If you have cable or FiOS, check Nick on Demand. It's one of the free on-demands and probably has the latest episodes. I used it to watch an episode I missed about a month ago.

I find it interesting the amount of hate the show and Mako character are getting for the portrayal of the romance arc. It's like the fanbase has never seen a love triangle before.

I don't think that the arc is bad, but it seems like it has been used before. It certainly makes everything between the new Team Avatar more complex, jeopardizing its link with Asami, who I feel might turn to the Equalists. Mako, in my opinion, could have at least told Asami the truth and calm tensions for the sake of keeping everyone together and concentrated on the matters at hand.

A romance sub-plot, huh? I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

Is it at least better written than the ones in the original series?

So, I'm gonna say Bumi isn't Amon, since Bumi is a commander in the United Forces, and currently approaching Republic City.

So... if I get really upset, will Aang come and restore my bending, too?

Hah wow. That Tarrlok/Amon murder suicide was a fantastic end.

I sure hope they don't pussy out and have one of them survive. I doubt it though.

Yeah, that was pretty awesome. I was actually impressed that happened, considering they made sure to show ALL the Equalist pilots deploying their parachutes when Iroh kicked them.

I was completely fine with the sudden Airbending thing. But then having Aang come in and basically fix everything did not sit well with me.

I'm still looking forward to Book 2, though.

I liked Aang coming in. It left a good feeling for the end. And what about Mako and Korra kissing at the end, what about Asami and Mako, or did I miss something? (In the first 20 minutes or otherwise)

Nope. Same old, same old, "Oh, I love Asami. No, wait, I love Korra! No, wait!"

And the ending was just cheap. It cheapens Lin Beifong's last stand, cheapens Amon as a villain in general, cheapens the entire Equalist movement, etc. Losing your bending in Avatar is like death in Dragon Ball. That is, it's only permanent if you're evil.

Agreed.

Good, I'm not the only one that thought that was a really cheap move. And it's not really even the fact that Aang just fixed her like that. I mean, I wouldn't have had a problem with it if it happened a couple episodes into the next season or something. But the way it went down, we barely had a chance for the situation to set in before Aang poofed in and gave her bending back.

That's how I feel. When Amon actually got Korra, I was hoping that the second season would be about them trying to fix everything Amon had done (finding a way to get everyone's bending back), but it doesn't look like that's the case, unfortunately.

Re: The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra

Postby JAGzilla » Sat Jun 23, 2012 11:29 am

My main question: what are the going to do with the next season, now? With the exception of Asami being rejected, everything in this season was pretty much just wrapped up. They killed Amon, the Equalists as an organization are neutralized, Korra and Mako fell in love, Korra mastered Airbending and is a full-blown Avatar. Now what? Where do they go from here? With Korra at full power, what is the next threat supposed to be? No mortal army really stands a chance against her, let alone most individuals, and we've already had an enemy that can take away Bending. So... do the Spirits invade, or something?

That said, the finale was pretty good, overall. The battle between Iroh's fleet and the Equalist planes was great, one of my favorite action scenes in the franchise now. Tarrlock's murder/suicide was a good way to handle his and Amon's fates. Aang fixing the ending was cheap, but I'll let it slide. Again, I just hope there's a good plan in place for next season.

Because Korra was originally written as a miniseries I can understand to try and provide a more finite ending. This is why the Amon and Equalist plots were wrapped up as cleanly as they were.

Oh my God, personally I LOVED the finale. It had plenty of story (and I mean PLENTY, with Korra finally Airbending, Amon's past, etc), plenty of action and suspense. I loved when Amon was about to take away Mako's bending, and suddenly Korra airbends, making him have a whole "WTH? When could she do that?" Lol. When she got her bending back and demonstrated her power also looked really cool as well. I just hope they can live up to Season One with Season Two

When my brother and I saw Korra get her bending taken away my brother thought a cool idea for next season would be for the spirits to create an even more powerful Avatar with no compassion or humanity in him but then they killed Amon off and restored Korra's bending so it's going to be fun to see what they do with season 2.

Does anyone know if and when the finale will be rerun? It didn't get recorded onto my DVR, so I haven't seen it. D:
