Anyways I don't care if you don't like what I like. I am the one that is being heavily questioned about saying I like one thing and not the other. People say I am the one that gets upset when someone doesn't like what I like when at the same time I am the only one being picked apart about it.

So I have a different taste then most of you, why does that mean I get heavily questioned and mocked whenever I say something about it?

That's not true, watch this.

I like the Heisei era for its continuity.

Now wait for it............

My request for this to be continued in a civil and intelligent manner ignored? Amazing.

It was dropped when you let the negativity of one member get to you unnecessarily. skreeonk ignore people who are being nonconstructive. It's the easiest thing you can do.

Showa, being a child of the millennium yet those where the main ones I watched as a kid. And I love how the whole Showa is one timeline, Heisei is complicated, and Millennium...only the Kiryu Saga films had a a timeline, and maybe G2K and GXM...

Goji wrote:The only Heisei films that comes across as truly "serious" are RETURN OF GODZILLA and GODZILLA VS. DESTOROYAH anyway. All the rest have too many fantastical elements to be labeled as such. Those two are the only ones that even come close to being as serious as the original 1954 film.

"Serious", however, doesn't make a great film. DESTOROYAH, especially, is really quite lackluster.

Yeah parts of it were cool and Godzilla's death I felt was really well done. Aside from that, meh.

I already said this in another thread but I'll say it again.

The Showa series is my personal favorite. I've been kind of surprised by how much I've liked the Millennium series actually. I think I can say I prefer their cartoonish, comic book action style to the dramatic, dark tones of the 90s films. I like the darker direction in concept but even though I love the 90s era I find the films to be kind of...plodding by comparison.

I like all the series and the Showa series has a special place in my heart. I grew up when these movies were released in the 60s and 70s. But there is something about the Millennium series that is a bit above quality to the Hesei series.

Showa series. It's what I was raised with and I always had a blast watching them as a kid, especially with friends over.

I like em all, but in terms of preference, I have to say the Millenium era. GMK is my favorite movie discounting the original.
