Well I'm told the Thanos imperative or whatever had a satisfying ending and ended Thanos for good and ended on a good note... Until this came out of the blue and people are kind of ticked by that.

Do yourself a favor and read FF instead of AvX or AA.

I haven't read either avengers book, BUT GOD YES WITH FANTASTIC FOUR AND FUTURE FOUNDATION!!!
I loooove what hickman has done with the team and has really made me into a big FF fan. Hoping to read the second volume of future foundation too. Oh btw, I love spidey being on the FF INFINITELY more then him being an avenger and I love that new costume!

However since Hickman and I think Matt fraction are writing issues of AvX,I'm kind of interested in reading them AND with the rumor one of the two will take over avengers once Bendis' nearly ten year reign of mediocrity is over, I look forward to checking out avengers again course I hear that means fraction will be off iron man which do not want as he's great with tony. But I'm also curious now who will write the FF once Hickman leaves.

Fixed.

I agree on AvsX and AA. Both books are HIGHLY overrated. AvsX is EXTREMELY shallow. I mean 6 issues in and theyve pretty much done away with the Phoenix destroying worlds like Galactus after a marijuana binge.

AA being Avengers Assemble or Avengers Academy? Because I've heard Academy is really good.

There are way too many Marvel books I want to read at the moment. It's getting ridiculous. There goes my money... -_-

Assemble as that's the more relevant one and it's written by Bendis plus we're talking about Thanos and he appears in it.

And have you ever thought of going to your local library and see if they have any of the books you desire? Pretty much all of my comic book reads come from them now.

Avengers Academy ISNT that good. It tries REAL hard to be The Runaways meets Teen Titans with a string of 2nd rate wannabe hero kids.

Haven't been reading much Thor aside from the recent Annual -which was good-, but Fantastic Four is still quite the better book imo. It may be the best ongoing on the shelves right now, fun book, well written.

And about the Academy, its sort of good, not a master piece but at a certain point it was the only decent Avengers book out there.

Fantastic Four is good, I will give you that but you gotta know it ran for YEARS and was horrible.

Thor is an AMAZING book (minus two arcs - The Secret Invasion arc and The World Eaters). It's totally stand alone. Im upto the Fear Itself arc and each arc is just perfect. The Galactus Seed - the banter between Silver Surfer and Thor was classic.

FF might've been bad for years, but the last two or three years it has been consistently one of the best books Marvel has been putting out.

So has Thor.

But almost all Avengers books have been mediocre to crap. The characterizations of all the Avengers in AvsX makes you cringe. JMS reinvented Thor in 2007 and now he's in space acting like a turd with apparently 1/10th his power getting drunk with Valkeryie? Pfft no.

I've heard some of the Secret Avengers stuff is pretty great. I'm really excited to read the rest of Secret Warriors and get started on Venom and Uncanny X-force both sound great from what I've read and heard.

Secret Avengers was good up until it was rebooted. But it wasnt enough IMHO to warrant a flagship title.

Venom has been surprisingly good. Ive not read it but I hear good things but X-Force has been freakin' stellar.

Isn't Secret Avengers currently being written by the writer of Venom and X-Force though? That's piqued my interest.

Maaaybe. If I remember right, it was Jonthan Hickman who started writing secret avengers and still is or am I thinking Warren Ellis?

Rick Remember is writer of Secret Avengers. He'll be completing his run on VENOM with the upcoming "Savage Six" arc, with his co-pilot in the writing department on the book, Cullen Bunn, taking over full time in the writing. And speaking of Venom, it looks like he'll be joining forces with Scarlet Spider in dealing with the latest antics of the MU's most demented pyschopath in the upcoming mini....MINIMUM CARNAGE.

Can't really say I like Fraction's Thor. JMS was good but it took him forever to finish his books.

I honestly think that Dan Jurgens' run on Thor was one of the best in recent memory. He really, really divided fans at the time, but he also gave us a genuine sense of surprise. I didn't always know exactly what was going to happen, and that kept me reading, even when I didn't necessarily like what went down.

You mean the stuff he did in 1999-2001? I wouldnt call that recent, or better then the JMS - present stuff.

Well, it doesn't feel that long ago, in the grand scheme of comics.

I don't know if I'd call it better than JMS' work, exactly, but I found it more interesting. I'm sure personal taste is major factor. I loved the angle of bringing Asgard to earth and taking a more active role in the affairs of human beings.
