Gee, maybe because (gasp!) this is the beginnings of the xenomorph species. Imagine that!

The fact that you weren't even able to piece this together makes your whole rant invalid as skreeonk, as far as I'm concerned.

How does any of that make any of my criticisms of the inherent lack of logic in the script invalid?
Why have any of the engineers/soldiers/angels/demons/giants/ADAMS chests exploded? Explain it to me since you're obviously so much more intelligent than anybody else on these boards. While you're at it, explain all the rest of the inconsistencies and lapses in scientific logic in the movie. Please. :?

Jesus Christ, this isn't even proper English.

Why did an unknown organism burst it's way through the engineer's chest if it's not a xenomorph?

^ I'm assuming this is basically what you're trying to say, am I right?

The answer to this question is simple .Obviously, it indicates the start of the xenomorph species.

Perhaps different birthing methods create different variations. This one was the "grandchild" born from a parent who was itself a product of the union between an infected human and another human. The cobra worm was another variation of the face hugger model, though the offspring apparently controlled the host rather than killing it.

Xenos born from Engineers could be different. Either that or the substance itself was constantly changing. I dunno.

Saw it. Liked it. Was no where as good as Alien.

Possible spoilers?

First, ok Vickers has a very rare and expensive medical pod in her special detachable craft. And the pod is only configure for MALE? Im sorry, is Vickers a tranny?

Second, the rampant use of CGI made me sick. Scott pulled off so much with matte and models in Alien and Blade Runner that the cartoon Engineers were a huge disappointment in that respect.

Third, it's a prequel to Alien. Sorry, but it is. It has a proto-Xeno at the end.

I dug it, but it's below Alien and Aliens IMHO.

Ridley Scott only used CGI on the Engineer's face the rest was a suit. Also we're not sure if it is a proto-Xeno or just a new type of Xenomorph.

Or it could be that Vickers is a robot.

She isn't, not that that would affect why the medical pod is configured for a male.

Wait so is the movie a prequel to Alien or not, I'm confused. According to what you guys are saying I'd call it a prequel.

It's a prequel in the sense that it takes place in the same universe prior to the events of Alien. It is not a prequel in the sense that the events of Prometheus do not lead up to the events of Alien. It's more of a spin-off prequel. A related story, but not a direct prequel.

I wish people would see Moonrise Kingdom this weekend(best film of the year) instead of this Film equivalent to Subway.

*Disclaimer, I acknowledge that Prometheus is no the worst film to see, hence why I compared it to the somewhat more healthy Subway and not Mcdonald's.*
It isn't conderacting if i'm pissed.

The amusing part is that Subway isn't any healthier than Mcdonald's.

Technically, we wont know until or unless a Prometheus 2 is made. The storyline of Prometheus, even as it stands, can be linked directly to Alien. But Aliens, Alien3 and A:R would be their own "existing in the same universe, but their own thing".

Untrue. Simply untrue. Subway isn;t healthy, but it's a damn sight better than McDonald's.

Oh, so now you have a degree in nutrition, too!!!??? :o

All kidding aside...

A. Why can't people see more than one film this weekend?
B. Someone who prefers genre films might not necessarily be interested in an indie comedy drama, especially one that, to the best of my knowledge, hasn't seen a significant advertisement campaign to begin with.

I got it online at Google U!

But seriously, I looked at the nutrition information on their menus. The healthier sandwiches at Subway are in the same range, calorie-wise, as McDonald's healthier sandwiches. Subway's higher calorie sandwhiches are in the same range as McDonald's higher calorie sandwiches.

Sadly, I have to wait until tomorrow to see this film, but I'm really liking what I'm reading about it. Something tells me this is the Evangelion of Scott Ridley; he doesn't appear to honestly want to give you all the answers without thinking and making your own conclusions, and it's heavily infused with mythology and theology, but it's written by the brainchild of Lost so...

If I can make one observation, it seems the people who are RAGING are people who are having a hard time getting past the fact that this film will not give you anything past Alien, in fact, I think the Xenos are a much looser creation than we want to believe. The Xenos are not a species that is unique like the series has shown us, but a unique mutation like many of the creatures Prometheus is dishing out.

I can't wait until tomorrow night so I can give my opinion on this film.

What's that film about?

Two troubled emotionally troubled children who elope together into the wild becuase they feel hated in their own environments. The towns people, leads being Edward Norton, Bruce Willis, and Bill Murray, gather together and try to find them before a hurricane hits. The movie explores the rifts between childhood and adulthood.
