I'm going to have to say no, based on the idea of this. A 50 year war suggests one Godzilla, and if I remember correctly, if you license a character, the incarnation HAS to match the movie. IE, Showa Mechagodzilla must be an alien, Kiryu must be made from Godzilla's bones, etc, etc..

The exact reason why we've been seeing Heisei MG all over the place. Though I wonder how SpaceGodzilla's origins are going to work now, since white holes aren't real...

It completely BAFFLES me as to why Toho has that restriction.

Oh, you want to expand the Godzilla universe? We already have lores and mythologies, so you have to follow those.

Could someone come up with their OWN incarnations of monsters, like Ghidorah or Mechagodzilla?

I think that's more to IDW as well, since they want to keep true to the kind of Godzilla (or Goji character) they're using. But I think Toho is also a bit involved... But I think it is more towards IDW's part.

No, they flat out said it was a Toho policy.

Must be a newer policy since Destroy All Monsters Melee used the 1993 MG as an alien weapon...or maybe it doesnt apply to games...who knows

It think it's been stated it just has to be a part of him (bones, brain, DNA, etc).

No it's not. It's telling an entirely original story that spans fifty years and has no immediately relevant connection to any of the films.

^I know. I'm just saying that this comic is like my idea, in a way. This comic is going to have nods from other movie's from different time lines, and that's why i think this comic is KIND of like my idea, kind of.
