Oh c'mon Death Kappa wasn' THAT bad of a film IMO. Sure it wasn't Shakespeare or Hamlet but it was enjoyable

^Lol, that reminds me of a review for KKvsG on Amazon.."This is King Kong vs. Godzilla, not King Lear".

I do have quite a bit of resentment towards the film, I thought it was going to be a serious kaiju film that played homage to the golden age of kaiju eiga. I waited around 2 years only to be greeted by the final result..

Perhaps you gave your hopes up a bit too high. Sure its not perfect but to me the film is quite fun in its insanity not every kaiju film needs to be Godzilla 1954 like serious and I'm at peace with that

Only if Kenneth Brannagh directed, and played Lear.

Let's be serious here, Ken would want to play Godzilla too.

Another way that could go wrong if LP picks a wrong release date for the movie. July 2014 has X-Men: First Class 2 and Transformers 4 comes out around that month too. I don't want the movie to be overshadowed by other major films. With GINO it was different since GINO out gross the other summer blockbusters at the time (Deep Impact, Blade, Quest for Camelot, Halloween: 20 Years Later, and X-Files) but still lost to Saving Private Ryan and Armageddon. At least back in 1998, we didn't get as much sequels, remakes, reboots, and comic book movies as we do now.

For the first time ever, I have to say, I dont know how you can predict what a good date would be? In the 80's you might have 1 or 2 "Blockbuster" movies in an entire summer. In the 90's It was about 1 per month from May-August, then beginning in 2000, it was one every 2 weeks during the same season. NOW however there seems to be a potential Blockbuster opening almost every week from May-August, and its so hard to time a release 2+ years in advance. All those dates that IMDB posts-90% of them will no doubt change, unless studios start making agreements not to "intrude upon" another majoe films release week.

Holding back GI:Joe Retaliation until March 2013 gives evidence of this. But LP Godzilla isn't really in pre-production yet, so how can we even consider a release date? But the longer it gets held off, the more difficult it will be. Either it will get drowned out by other summer movies, or if released between January-March, be seen as a preconcieved failure. The only hope might be for a late August release.--Last year had films such as Cowboys & Aliens, Rise of The Planet of the Apes, Conan- like or hate them, this is the time frame where I feel LP Godzilla will have its best chance. But in 2-3 years, who knows...
There has never been a "Scientifically Accurate" Dinosaur portrayed on any Television Show, Movie, or Documentary. Only what the human imagination can conceive, and I'm ok with that.

Legendary Pictures can easily release Godzilla in a November/December of 2014... Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has a release around there for 2013, The Twilight films (no matter how bad we may think they are) have been a success around then an many other films have too.. Isn't the Hobbit also set for a 2013 release around that time an it's sequel? When it's obviously well known it'll be a blockbuster.

Godzilla doesn't NEED to be a Summer release to be a major blockbuster.

May - July are the best times obviously, August is really a hit or miss for any studio or film, an November - Early January seem to do rather well for films. If i actually think about it i wouldn't mind a Winter release for LP Godzilla, All the huge Summer films will have the trailer in the previews add extra hype before the big release.

I'm hoping for a November 2014 at least. I would say August could be a good choice but Kpa stated in the past that August is often a dead month for movies. Very few movies in that month are huge hits like Air Force One and Rise of Planet of the Apes. I just don't want LPG to over shadow by movies like Transformers, X-Men and Spider-Man.

So I just read somewhere that the new TMNT movie was gonna change the origins of the turtles from mutants to aliens. That of course is pissing off the die-hard fans.

So yeah I think I if they also changed Godzillas origins to be more believable or relevant would kinda suck.

Also if the frase "reimagining" comes up to descibe the movie it would REALLY be bad.
Sit back and relax.

Im sorry, but i agree with number 1 and 3. I hope LP doesent make another GINO.
