I don't want a $500+ item "lost" in the mail.

Brad, exclusives seem to becoming readily available by venders on eBay. Why not just buy from them now? I saw the 25cm MG exclusive sell at the price of the standard version recently.

Thanks Frank. I'll look into that but I believe past a certain point you can't cancel your order from X-Plus. I could be wrong... I'll check.

This is true. After some point they update your order with a message that it cannot be cancelled. Not sure what the cutoff is.

Right, I could refuse to pay it and ask my credit card company to deny the charge but then I would be blacklisted and I don't want them to do that. There may be future releases from them I want to buy directly.

UPDATE: My item shipped today and I was charged back in March, when I originally placed the order. X-Plus charges you at the time of purchase, not when it ships (unlike Hobby Search who charges you once it's ready for shipping). So, that's pleasant news. Already paid for and on the way. Now, I just wait for Tenso.com and hope that part goes smoothly.

Good god that Mogera looks awesome. Whoever is sculpting these 25cm entries is really killing it since the G'67 in November. Even then, GCrusher's looks purty nice in photos. However, your G'64 30cm jaw looks wonky to me...I'd look into adjusting it. BTW Druken Kong's G'64 25cm looks dynamite in his image. Why can't mine look like those haha!

Mogera plus Varan is another huge score for showa era kaiju. A few more entries and we can close that series out and move on to heisei! Monsterarts, get ready for some competition!

I'm going to cool it on the X-Plus collecting scene for awhile. I got the 25cm Mothra coming in, and then that crazy Kiryu (feel a little buyer's remorse, but maybe that'll change once I get it). X-Plus stuff is just too expensive for just and I run out of space quickly with them. If they do a Ghidorah or some Heisei stuff (Battra adult, SpaceG, 94 or 95 Goji) then I might jump in for a sec to get those.

On a another note, Gorath's Maguma is on sale again on Hobby Search. Great movie, and great figure, just a shame it's not more popular.

Space is an issue for all that collect X-Plus.
I need to work out some creative solutions. My two display cabinets are almost full, so I'll probably begin displaying figures on top of the cabinets!

I am displaying my X-Plus figures on my top shelves (FYI, my shelves are at least 4 1/2 feet high). So far I have four X-Plus figures - 25cm Gigan, 25cm MechaGodzilla '74, and 30cm Godzilla '89, and 30cm Varan on the way. For me, all I can handle right now is six X-Plus figures with the space I have, so I will be able to buy two more if I feel like it.

Godzilla vs Mothra by GCrusher, on Flickr

'61 Mothra came today and I quickly dispatched him to the display case to be with his '64 Nemesis.

Quick Review...
The Good: Looks just like Mothra. Best detail on any Mothra vinyl I've seen. The eyes look great.
The Bad: The detail on the majority of the figure is very good, though the spray on the untextured portion (largest parts) of the wings isn't anything to get excited about. I thought the 30cm Rodan was painted better.
The Ugly: The metal pole fits into a fairly light weight prop, that isn't really large enough to keep Mothra from tipping. Be careful.
Rating: Should have textured the entire wing area not just near the body of the figure. 3 1/2 out of 5 Building Stomps!

LOL! I love it!! Thanks for the review Frank. Enjoyable and informative. :-)

I gotta wait a week or so for mine, since it's the Internet Exclusive. I wonder how they did these. I wonder if yours has the same eyes but just not the bulbs and lighting mechanism installed. Can you tell?

FYI - I haven't seen a single Mothra Imago on eBay yet. I'm shocked!

G crusher and all others, I have the secret to mothra! Couldnt get her to stay up initially either

Push the metal rod all the way through the base. The hole on the bottom lines up with the one on the top

Once in both, its a solid display stand

Also brad, it does appear to be the case with the eyes, the Baragon 25cm was much the same

Enjoy!

Thanks for the tip with the Mothra base, I'll have to give it a try.

It's too bad they didn't use a similar base as the resin version, it was much more elaborate. Same with the sculpt in general, though.

I would've got Mothra, but for some reason the look of the figure just did not sit right with me. The Revoltech Mothra 1961 is good enough for me... however I'd jump on board if X-Plus ever produces Mothra's 2003 design from Tokyo SOS. That's my favorite incarnation of her - a mix of the classic, with a modern update.

Yeah man, welcome to the Mothra 2003 club! Best Mothra design ever. Also my favorite Mechagodzilla, and one of my favorite Goji suits.

I agree with that! The Millenium Mothra (II) and Kiryu are by far the best designs of their respective monsters.

I think Kiryu is the best SDF-variation of Mechagodzilla and it's a shame that Toho's character policies restrict it from appearing more regularly.

But I'm just here to throw my hat into the '03 Mothra appreciation arena. Best visual interpretation of the character by far and the conception of it should be a model for future monster re-imaginings.
