Yep, sire! At least Stage Act 4 even comes with two types of arms (3 of each) - a short stiff one and longer moveable one - as well as 3 different types of claws (also 3 of each). Don't remeber exactly the contents of Stage Act 5, but it was quite similar.

A pretty good short blog post by our own Poe Ghostal. He pretty much sums up how I feel about this amazing line in this short blurb:
"I need to be honest with you, dear readers – I’m not sure I’m capable of being objective about the S.H.MonsterArts toy line. “Super-articulated Godzilla action figures” is the sort of thing I found at toy stores in my dreams, but the very idea of them existing in the real world seemed like pure fantasy. And yet, here they are. (True, I wish we could get some monsters from the 1960s and ’70s in addition to the current 1990s lineup, but to say I will take what I can get is an understatement.)"

To be fair Revoltech got up with the gig a year before (on a further technicality, Ultra-Act before that, and Medicom is even older days).

None of those lines (save medicom) had Godzilla. None at all had Ghidorah.

Ok I had to look this one up but (Medicom) I'm sure it's great as a collectors item and given a chance perhaps later I may pick one up but this is not a good example of an articulate Godzilla figure homeboy inside the suit ok but not godzilla itself. http://www.clubtokyo.org/listings/itemL ... tentID=491
This atleast for me is an exciting time as others have said Monsterarts are begining to produce the articulate toys of my dreams ones that don't just sit and look good but ones you can pose and play with and I think the are the perfect size for the most part to combine with revoltechs the Gamera's, Gyoas and soon Rathalos. I like 'em.
To me once they release King Ghidorah then they will really need to create some even more fantastic figures (If the line continues) I'm telling you from the pi'cs it's really going to be a challenge to beat how well they've created Ghidorah. I'm excited just to see what they will attempt. I would imagine they will put out atleast one more before Christmas maybe two.

How? Ultra Acts aren't even a related property and Sci Fi Revoltech had only one monster exclusive to the Godzilla series. And there was nary a Godzilla figure in site. To be considered "super articulated Godzilla figures" there'd have to be a Godzilla somewhere in there, right? :eh:

When I was younger I dreamed of having a Godzilla figure that could be posed any way the King of Monsters could be posed. When I woke up everything was gone save my disappointment. What Poe wrote was right on the money. This is my dream line. The thought of a beautiful, perfectly scaled Ghidorah obviously still hasn't fully hit home. Every time there are new pics I get excited all over again.

As I've said before, if the line somehow ended right after King Ghidorah I would be disappointed... But not devastated. I would still have an excellent display with the ginest damned Godzilla action figures ever produced. Whatever the future holds I'll be content.

Well first off, Gigan and Angilas were both exclusive to the Godzilla series, without any solo films. So that makes two, not one.

Secondly, does it really matter that Rodan and Mothra appeared in solo films first before showing up in the Godzilla series? For most people they're Godzilla series monsters.

Lastly, yes we get it that the Revoltechs didn't include Godzilla and King Ghidora. You say that a lot. The line still included Gigan, Angilas, Baragon, Mogera, Mothra, Rodan, a maser cannon and Atragon. That's a pretty respectable sampling of characters. Add to that all the Gamera characters they did, as well as Daimajin and Booska, and you get a nice overview of Japanese monster characters that just happens to not include Godzilla.

However you want to rationalize things to make the MonsterArts look better, the Revoltechs still did it first.

Okay, thank you, sir! I kinda thought what I read was wrong... 3 bases, 3 arms, 2 claws... Not a whole lot of sense.

Ghiddy preorders.. please start soon. Lemme know how much I need to throw at you.

For shame. Gigan was also a Zone Fighter monster. Zone Fighter was part of the Godzilla continuity, not series.

Legion1979 wrote:Secondly, does it really matter that Rodan andMothra appeared in solo films first before showing up in the Godzilla series? For most people they're Godzilla series monsters.

Yes it matters. They're even their solo film incarnations. And Mothra even had her own solo series.

You know what's great? I can say it as many times as I want. Cuz it's true. Also, please point to where I complained about Revoltech's selection. What purpose does any of this serve?

Legion1979 wrote:However you want to rationalize things to make the MonsterArts look better, the Revoltechs still did it first.

How What? Made Godzilla figures? I never claimed what you're arguing about. Besides Monsterarts doesn't need me to make it look good. It does that on its own.

Legion1979 wrote:You've got to be kidding me. Really? You didn't just say that. Gigan is a Godzilla-series monster, despite appearing in one episode of an obscure TV show after the fact.

In what universe could that be considered "exclusive" to the Godzilla series?

Yes it matters. They're even their solo film incarnations. And Mothra even had her own solo series.

Legion1979 wrote:Does that really matter? They appeared in more Godzilla movies than they have solo features. They're Godzilla-series monsters, no matter how technical you want to be.

Replace "technical" with "right" and you'll be all set. Rodan and Mothra may be Toho kaiju films, but they're not Godzilla series films.

Legion1979 wrote:You complain about Revoltech's selection every time you knock it in favor of MonsterArts (the series you've just said you CANNOT be objective about) because Godzilla and King Ghidora aren't in it.

The purpose wasn't even to knock Revoltech. The purpose was to express that SHM is my dream line. What is your purpose here? Arguing for the sake of arguement?

Legion1979 wrote:Made super-articulated Toho/Godzilla figures. I'm sure you knew that. You seen dead set on knocking Revoltech down a peg every time they come up during MA discussion.

When did I knock Revoltech here? They're not Godzilla figures. The reasons why are abundantly clear.

Legion1979 wrote:So why spend every other post gushing about them?

Oh and PlanetXMan's picture is pretty funny.

Because they're my dream figures. Too bad if you've got issues with that. You actually might be trying to get this thread locked. I would actually report your personal attacks but the mods would just lock the thread and warn me.

And yes, pxms pic made me LOL.

Damn, I guess my last post made it through anyway.

Anyway, regardless of what you say, Gigan was a GODZILLA SERIES MONSTER making a guest appearance in one episode of a TV show. Period.

As for everything else...I don't want to continue this. Because by the tone of your last post it's going to be me making points I think are logical which will be countered with "But they're my DREAM LINE". You've already admitted that you can't be objective about this series, so continuing this will get me nowhere.

Legion is right..regardless of how technical you want to get, the Toho Revoltech monsters/mechs are most commonly associated with the Godzilla series by pretty much everyone. Sorry RKZ, but that's a pretty dumb argument.

I love this line, and have also always wanted a super articulated Godzilla line since I was a kid. But goddamn, even I'm getting a little annoyed by the rabid SH fanboys lately.

The only monsters, not counting SotC. that have 100+ votes are... In order from last to first:

Godzilla (Showa), Adult Destoroyah & Gamera, Jet Jaguar, and Biollante. Quite an interesting result so far. I figured some of the Millennium monsters would be higher up.

S.H.MonsterArts 2.0

Postby Petezilla » Mon May 28, 2012 1:10 pm

Since the good old SHM thread finally got locked, I was quite desperate about my future here on this forum for I mostly came here because of the old SHM topic (OK, including ULTRA-ACT, too) on a near dayly basis. I seldomly post in any non-merchandise topics (even barely in non-toy topics), because I feel like I don't have much to contribute in there, since I feel like most everything has been said about the movies, etc. I have them all and I enjoy them every once in a while. I am, however, a hardcore BANDAI collector (I must own somewhere between 900 and 1.000 figures), so I want to talk about this kind of stuff. And since I'm in love with the S.H.MonsterArts figures for a variety of reasons (which not everybody might share), I really thought about getting inactive here on TK or even leave, for like 80% of my reason to come here was gone with the SHM thread being locked. Thus I simply needed to open a new SHM topic to discuss and freak out about anything this line may still have in the bag. However, it's a shame that a 200+ pages figure thread, that has grown so big in just over one year, needed to be killed off, anyway.

However, first I wasn't sure whether to take the risk to start a new SHM thread or better let it be. I was like calling the new thread "S.H.MonsterTards" to produce a humorous context in contrast to the previous drama, but I think it wouldn't have played out too well in the end. Then I was like making two threads: "S.H.MonsterArts (for objectivists)" and "S.H.MonsterArts (for fanboyz)" to ensure nobody gets offended again for the users who need all rational debates don't need to look into the "fanboyz going nuts" thread - and vice versa. Well, wouldn't probably have payed out either, so I went for "2.0" instead and I hope everyone is fine with it. Well, this new one might probably still be locked again right away or maybe I'm getting warned for allowing the old drama story to possibly continue (or both). But... so be it. We'll see. Let's experiment. But not without the following set of holy rules:

1.) No drama!
2.) If anybody does fanboy talk: let him/her do so. It's allowed to be and act like a totally freaked-out fanboy. These figures are great!
3.) If anybody does criticise sth., etc.: let him/her do so. It's allowed to have controversy and an objective pov. SHM legitimately isn't the god of toys for everybody!
4.) If you feel like you need to answer somebody in a manner that could in any possibility cause drama: kick yourself and don't answer - even if it bugs you.
5.) If you absolutely can't keep from getting personal: we got the PM button for a reason. Fight your rhetoric duels in intimate togetherness.
6.) NO friggin' DRAMA!!!

This goes to everybody, no individuals shall be accused of anything. At least I will try my best to post under these rules for myself. I hope everybody else can apply to these rules too, so this thread can live and prevail from now on. Otherwise: be so kind not to post here. Thanks! :g2k:
