I'm just sitting around watching House again and was wondering who else loves this show. I'm starting from Season 1 again and gonna go through to Season 6 on DVD. The cases are bizzare and are the only reason why I know what an LP is. House's way of talking to people makes me wish that the people I know would act like his friends do. So who likes this phenomenal medical drama as much as I do? Who's your favorite doctor? What's your favorite case? Or whats your favorite House-ism?
How the hell did I spell phenomenal right?
I also forgot 13, Taub, and Kutner's first names, so anyone who knows will get +10 House points.

Normallu I don't care for medical dramas but both my mother and my girlfriend are obsessed with this one so I've sat through the show, and I must admit, I love this show. Hugh Laurie is fantastic.

I love this show!! im really interested to see what going to happen on the new season with the aftermath of House crashing into Cuddy's house. Plus i heard Laurie might not return for another season after this upcoming one, which would suck tremendously

A mutual friend introduced me to the show, and I like a lot of the older episodes. I saw one newer episode and headbanged.

The show was good at first, but ran out of new ideas and the episodes fell into boring formulas and repetitive stuff. Basically, House found a good formula, overused it and ruined it. I'm sure new viewers won't mind this at first and will probably like the newer episodes, but as time goes on they'll gradually realize they can predict the end of the episode fifthteen minutes in and eventually quit the show. My best record is predicting the entire episode from the 5 minute mark, but it usually takes a lot longer before you can figure out the plot.

You really cant compare the two ...medical drama vs medical comedy.

I will admit, sometimes House gets annoying. It seems most of the shows were something simple - like she broke her toe, or they have a tape worm, or they ate bad pork. Basically, House is the same plot - patient presents with interesting symptoms, House does clinic work and acts like an asshole, sexually harrasses Cuddy, everyone doubts him though he's solved 99.99% of all his cases, he bonds with Wilson, he has an epiphanie about 48-52 minutes into the show and BOOM! Cure.

Scrubs has Sarah Chalke so that's a +1. I dont find Edelstein, Morrison or Wilde THAT hot. ...they all need a Big Mac.

When I saw a couple of promos of this show on TV, I became quite interested, which was surprising, since I had never before watched any hospital dramas. And then, right from the first episode of House M.D., I was hooked.

So far I've seen seasons 1-5, and in my opinion the show has managed to stay strong throughout its run. Most of the cases are interesting, and I'm always looking forward to finding out what the real symptom is.

Of course Hugh Laurie is the one who steals the show as Dr. Gregory House. His performance is nothing short of amazing, and the fact that he actually has a great American accent, even though he's British, only makes it even more magnificent. Admittedly, the character is a real jerk who does questionable things sometimes, but you still feel appreciation for him because of his medical skills. He has a pretty dark sense of humor, which is also one of the best elements of the show.

As for the "House-isms", my favorite quote from House has always been this one from the very first episode (which by the way guest stars Robin Tunney, who would later play Teresa Lisbon in The Mentalist, another brilliant show):

"You can live with dignity; you can't die with it."

See, Scrubs , to me at least, even has better drama. Granted not in every episode, but the episodes with drama are by far better than any drama I have seen/heard of in House.

Ehhhh Scrubs has some drama, sure. But it's not as deep as in House. Scrubs has teenage/20s level drama, House has psychological drama.

I've been compared to House soooo many times in my life that I bought a cane that I walk around with every now and then.

If I'm compared to House...that's probably not good for me, is it?

I happen to agree with him. Two different shows.

I like House as a character though I'm a sucker for the "Magnificent Bastard" type of character

My mom has marathons every few months and am sick of this show every once in a while.
Gypsy kid has a toothpick in him, I know!
It also makes me realize after season 5-ish, they dropped the clinic skits a bit. I miss those, those were often breaks from the drama and relationship crap. 13 and Foreman wasn't gonna work out, I saw it coming after the first time they kissed.

Okay, so the series wrapped up tonight. I liked the finale, thought it was an appropriate way for the show to end, and I predicted the final moments. It reflected on the series as a whole, and brought some closure to his character.

It was nice, and I think the show needed to end.

House has and always will be the perfect sick day show. It is compelling enough within a single hour, it doesn't require a huge amount of thought, and each episode stands alone. If you need a show to watch when lying sick on a couch or are just bored out of your mind on a Sunday afternoon than House is a good remedy. However, I can't see watching it weekly. It is formulaic to the point of frustration.
